Go EATERS!
Awwww...poor UCI, we lost to Oregon State yesterday, but we had a great run of wins in the College World Series and I think it put UCI on the map. Before this baseball team, I would always hear ESPN call our team Cal-Irvine (like during basketball) which isn't right...we're not a freaking Cal State! But now, they correctly call us UC Irvine. HOORAY!.

So the first that I heard that UCI was doing well was at the Super Regionals in Witchita when we were playing Wichita State Uni...the Shockers. HA HA HA! The SHOCKERS and the EATERS!? How awesome is that??? HA HA HA!

Then at the College World Series UCI made history by playing in the longest college world series game ever AND being the first team to win back to back extra innning games. But yesterday we ran out of steam...those back to back extra inning games took its toll. While OSU had like 3 or 4 days to rest, we had to play. BOOOOOOO!!!!

You know what was hilarious though? The EATERS played the BEAVERS! HA HA HA! Get it? HA HA HA! I would love to see a picture of a OSU player next to a UCI player (you know so it says BEAVERS - EATERS) HA! Hilarious! I love all the signs at that game like "BEAVER FEVER" or "EATER NATION" HA HA HA! Hilarious!

You know what sucks about UCI though? UCI sucks. Go back on campus and you see all these wonderful things that you wish you had. The ARC now has a new section with a roller rink and a rock climbing wall. You have Jack in the Box and KenTaco Bell across the street instead of just In and Out. The new Student Center will be finished in Fall. All this new Grad Housing that looks better than a lot of people's apartments are up. It sucks. I wish I was 10 years younger....but then again, it's hella hard now to get into UCI now.

But don't get me wrong. I loved UCI and my experiences there. Just taking a look back at Jon's Blog brings back memories and made me look back at some of my old photos. Ahhhhhh college life....those were the days.

Ok, that is all for now. HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE!!!!! Such is the life of Joe...

Foie Gras
So Vegas this past weekend was good times as always but I'm sooooo tired from it. I think I've been spoiled by flying to Vegas the past few times that I've been there. So driving to Vegas this time just wore me out. But you know what? It wasn't as bad as I had expected or remembered it. Maybe a lot of people weren't going to Vegas this weekend for Father's Day (maybe due to graduations and stuff).

So what did I do in Vegas? Just basically shopping, dinner, and a show. No real gambling, no real drinking, just chilling and kicking it with Cat's parents. They treated us to dinner at Knob Hill at the MGM and we got the tasting menu....WOW! I was kinda thinking that the tasting menu wouldn't fill me up, but I was really wrong. I was really full at the end of dinner. Halibut was good, foie gras was interesting, kobe beef was good, and desert was delicious. Their molten chocolate cake was almost as good as the one in Fleming's (which is hands down the best chocolate molten lava cake I have EVER had).

After dinner we went to watch Ka and it was the best Cirque show that I have watched. I've seen Mystere and that was my favorite mostly because it was my first Cirque show that I have ever seen. La Reve was alright, but Ka...Ka was awesome. The stage, the story, the acrobatics, everything about it was awesome. I highly recommend watching that. Now, I just have to watch O and also Love which are both really good (or so I've heard).

After the show we decided to check out Planet Hollywood, which used to be the Aladdin hotel. It looks totally different inside. Really modern and I thought really nice...the only problem....there was no one there! It was soooooooo empty and so dead there. It was a Saturday night, prime time and they had tables for $10 that didn't even have people playing. That's definitely telling you something. At MGM the $20 tables were packed...here at Planet Hollywood, $10 tables were empty. Pretty sad. It's a nice hotel and I think it's just because they're still doing major construction to the outside that's facing the Strip.

So that was the weekend basically. Oh yeah...it was SOOOOOOO hot there. 100+ degrees. Way too hot for me. I think I got like 10 shades darker (even though we were inside most of the time) and I think my farmer's tan got so much worse from walking around the outdoor outlets at noontime! I was actually trying to find like gloves or something for my arms. My Farmer's tan is pretty bad, especially on my drivers side. I need to find that thing that Allen Iverson wears on his arm when he plays basketball and just wear it all the time. I was looking to buy some soccer socks and just cut off the foot part and wear those around...without a shirt on...so I can even out my tan. HA HA HA!

Ok, that's all for now. I hope you all had a great weekend. Imma talk to you laters. Such is the life of Joe...

Yummy in my Tummy
I love the Frosted Cup. It is the best thing ever. Frosted cup puts Pinkberry to shame (even though I've never had Pinkberry). What's Frosted Cup? Well, it's this frozen yogurt shop that just opened up by Cat's place. Mmmmmmm...delicious! You basically serve yourself any of the 10 frozen yogurt flavors they have and you can put whatever toppings you want on it...then they calculate the price by weight! It's sooooooooooooo goood. Cat and I have been there 3 times since we first discovered it this past weekend. Yummo!

I also love big brain academy wii degree. it is the best thing ever. At first I thought it was just alright, but when Cat and I started to play against each other, then it started to get fun. We brought it over to my place and Joes and Ryan loved it too....it's so competitive and so much fun. Good times.

Yeah, so I haven't been blogging lately because I've been obsessed with this one investment thing just reading all about it and stuff. The first month I did really well, basically making 60% back of my initial investment....pretty damn good, huh? I was just dreaming of the things I was gonna buy, a new car, quitting my job and doing that investment thing full time, etc. But then I lost it all....plus my principle investment...then I got sad...then I started to read and learn from my mistakes, so Imma try it again and see what happens this time. So yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing instead of blogging.

Ummmm...saw "Knocked Up"...ehhhh. I was expecting hilarity, but it was just chuckles. Also saw "Ocean's Thirteen"....BRAD PITT!!! YESSIR!!! MMMMMM HMMM!!!! I mean, Brad Pitt and George Clooney seem like such down to earth guys, they're awesome. I really liked it, probably as much as I liked the first one...and definitely better than the second one.

So Father's Day. Gonna be in Vegas, in the sun, in the scorching heat, wooo hooo. Yeah, gonna be in Vegas this weekend to visit Cat's Dad for the Day of Fathers. Why not Tulare to visit Juanito? Because when I called him and asked him what he was doing he said he was busy going to a dinner dance on Saturday and hanging out with friends on Sunday. I know, I know....he's doing that because he knows that we're not coming up there.

Thanks to Jenn and Cesar for having us over a couple weekends ago for their wedding shower. It was good times just chilling and kicking it. You guys have a beautiful house and I love how it's walking distance to the new Towne Center there. Yeah, it kinda felt like we were back in college again just hanging out in someone's apartment. Good times.

Ok, I know there's a lot of other stuff I should've blogged about but I'll eventually remember and blog about them soon. Hope you all have a great weekend. Say hello to all your Dad's! Such is the life of Joe...
