Such is the life of Joe...
LOST!!!!How GREAT was LOST last night????!?!?!? SOOOOOOOOO good. To bad that it isn't coming back until FEB 2008!!! What the hell???? OMG, soooo good. I love it, waaaaaayyyyyy better than the Heroes finale. So once again hidden are my thoughts about lost..... Ok, so at first everyone thinks that it's a flashback on Jack and so did I. Ok, that's cool. But it wasn't!!! It was a Flash FORWARD! They were in the future!!! HOW AWESOME is that?!?!? My first clue was Jack and his phone...his Motorola Razor when he went and called whoever (it was revealed to be Kate) right before he jumped (and also when he went to the funeral parlor) you see his phone is a Motorola Razor...but those weren't out yet when the plane crashed, right? Anyways, the episode was awesome. Jack and the other Losties make contact with the outside world...but is that a good thing? Ben said that the people on the freighter in the ocean aren't there to rescue them, they've been looking for the island and when they get there they're gonna kill everyone. This is supported by Locke AND by Charlie who talked to Penny who said it wasn't her ship (Not Penny's Ship). Charlie dies...but I don't understand why he has to. First he makes contact with Penny who tells him that it wasn't her ship and then Russian dude blows a hole in the underwater station. First of all...didn't Desmond see this in his freaking vision? All his other visions have been so detailed, except for this one? COuldn't he see this coming? Second...Charlie had time to leave the room that he was in and seal it...but what does he do instead? He runs to the door, and seals it, then the grenade blows a hole. WTH? Just leave the room and shut the door...then you're alive! Hurley saves the day!!! HOORAY! I always wondered how they were gonna use that old VW minibus? So Walt is back...or is he? And why is he 25 years old now? HA HA HA! He's so old now. Is it really Walt? No, I think it's that magic smoke again (they say the magic smoke can take form of things like Jack's father, that horse Kate saw, the visions of Walt that the pregnant girl saw, Eko's brother, etc.) So Jack and Kate get off the island (as shown in the flash forwards), but Jack is all messed up and he wants to go back. He tells Kate that they weren't supposed to get off the island, that they were supposed to stay there. So does it mean that they eventually get off the island? Not necessarily, the future has yet to be written.... So finally...questions: -In the flash forward, it seems like Jack's dad is alive? (when Jack is talking to the doctor he says something like "well, go upstairs to my Dad and fire me...") What? -Who's was it that died (Jack went to the viewing where no one showed up). It had to be someone from the island, right? It had to be someone close to him (why would he try to kill himself after finding out?) Julliete maybe? Sawyer? I dunno... -Who is Kate with in the future? She says something like "I have to go now, or HE'll worry". Yeah, what a great episode. We have to wait freaking 9 months until new episodes though!!!! DAMMIT!Ok, that's it....what am I gonna watch now? All shows are having season finales....I guess that means I'll HAVE to go outside and do stuff. Such is the life of Joe...
Chicharon Bulaklak!First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY!!!! Hope you get tons and tons of new Nike's!!! So Heroes season finale last night. It was what I expected...it left us with a little cliffhanger. It's the season finale...of course they're gonna leave some unanswered questions so you can't wait until it returns next season. I thought it was good. I like what happened with Nikki/Jessica...the split personality thing was getting old. And since Linderman had powers...so must other people in his group..which means Nathan and Peter's Mom (and probably Dad) and Hiro's Dad, what are their powers? And if what's her name's Dad could see Peter...does that mean he has powers and that what's her name has powers too???? hmmmmmmm....Yeah, it left a lot of questions, but it's a season finale, what do you expect? So with that in mind...don't be too disappointed in the LOST finale, because you know the same thing is gonna happen....
One thing I AM disappointed in is that they cancelled VERONICA MARS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I admit, I haven't been watching it on Tuesday's, but I've been recording it and watching it in my free time...and it's so good! Best show on the CW by far, actually, the only show on the CW that I watch. Now it's cancelled. I hope they get picked up by some other channel or something.
So I'm trying this new thing called Joost, which is basically tv programs on your computer. Looks pretty cool so far, but I think my computer isn't up to par to enjoy it to it's full capabilities.
What the hell is up with the weather? Why's it so damn cold??? Isn't it springtime already? As long as the weekends are nice and sunny and especially this 3 day Memorial Weekend is nice and sunny then I'll be happy.
So this past weekend was really fun. Went down to San Diego with Cat and her parents for her cousin's graduation at San Diego State. It's my first time being on that campus and it's freaking huge! It made me miss my days in college though. The graduation ceremony was at Cox Arena and the professor that was announcing names was just butchering them...and I'm not talking about hard ethnic names, I'm talking about "normal" American names. This guy had a strong British accent and would just butcher all the names. It was terrible.
After graduation, we went out and ate at Rock Bottom and then headed to Belo (which used to be E Street Alley) for some clubbing. Ha ha ha, i'm too old for this...but I wasn't the oldest one there. A couple of Uncles were there too! I guess Cat's cousin Gerard invited them, but didn't think they'd come...but they were there and they were welcome, and that's the coolest thing. All their friends would come over and say hello and talk to them. In this club with 20 year olds in their clubbing attire were two uncles in their polo shirts and dockers not being ignored because people were embarrassed at having their Dad/uncle there, but having a good time and getting respect from all the friends. It was really nice to see. It was good times and I actually survived 2 shots of Patron without yacking! WOW!
Ok, that's all I can think of blogging. Imma talk to you guys later....Such is the life of Joe...
I Fart in Your General Direction...First off, Happy Belated Birthday Karen!!! Sorry Cat and I couldn't be there to celebrate, but we hope you had a great birthday and you got everything you wanted. The reason Cat and I couldn't celebrate was that we were in Vegas this weekend to visit Cat's parents. We left on Saturday morning and arrived around 9am temperature around 90 degrees! HA! The whole weekend we just chilled with Cat's parents, which was cool. Breakfast at Goldilocks, rested, and then went to dinner at the Wynn buffet...mmmmmmm crepes are delicious. The last time we were there, I didn't get to have any crepes because there was such a long line...this time, I made sure I would get at least one by getting a crepe as the first thing. Mmmmmmm...delicious.
After dinner, we watched "Spamalot". HA HA HA!!! That show is hilarious. If you liked "Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail" then you'll love "Spamalot". HA HA HA! I wanna watch the movie again, now. After the show, we headed to Red Rock Casino in Summerlin, my mostest favorite city in Nevada. This was the first time that I've been there and it's really really nice. I really like how it's not as busy as all the casinos in Vegas. Good times just drinking a couple drinks, lounging in a lounge and gambling a little bit.
Sunday we went to church and then went to lunch at this Japanese buffet which was really good. I usually hate Japanese buffets (Todai, Sumo, etc.) but this place was actually good. Yeah, the rest of the day was just spent chilling at the "Wenceslagio".
Yeah, it was a pretty chill weekend in Vegas. No clubbing, no staying out late, no real gambling or drinking but it was still fun and good to be in Vegas. Good times. But one thing remains the same....how much more I eat in Vegas. I just weighed myself today and I gained 4 pounds over the weekend. DAMN YOU VEGAS AND YOUR GREAT FOOD BUFFETS!!!
Ok, that is all...hope you all had a great weekend. Heroes was good wasn't it? Such is the life of Joe...
MBNHow good is LOST now? It's sooooo freaking good. It's amazing. They're advancing the story little by little, but the backstories on some of the characters makes it so interesting. Here's what I thought:
So last night's episode we saw the backstory of Ben. I really love how they tie plot points from previous episodes to newer ones. Like Ben's dad, Roger who's a Workman...he was the guy that Hurley found in that VW mini-bus. (btw, whatever happened to that thing?) Ok, and this Jacob guy that is supposedly the boss. He's invisible??? But did you get a glimpse of him during the whole commotion in his little cabin when things were flying around? You get a little glimpse of him after Ben gets thrown to the ground...he gets back up to the chair and you see a little glimpse of "Jacob". Also, when Locke first enters the place and he's shinging the light around...don't you see a little "black smoke" on the chair that Ben is talking to? And we also find out that the people there are not Dharma, but they're the natives. They're the natives that the Dharma Initiative built those sonic guards to protect themselves from. Too bad Ben made friends with them and they killed all of Dharma. What a great episode...do you think Locke is gonna die? What ever happened to Ben's little childhood girlfriend? Hmmmmmmm......
So it must be nice to go to the Playboy Mansion. Yeah, today Cat gets to go to the Playboy Mansion because they're running a program there...and they hired Jon to take pictures for them. LUCKY! Yeah, Cat's job is awesome. Hope you guys have fun up there.
Don't you hate it when you're really looking forward to a pair of jeans to be released and when you finally see pictures they look awesome...EXCEPT for the back pockets with this ridiculous embroidery on it? Wait...I'm the only one? Ok, blah.
Off to Vegas this weekend to visit Cat's parents for Mother's Day. Probably just gonna eat a lot and that's pretty much it. It's pretty chill going to Vegas now. We're watching Spamalot at the Wynn. If it's anything like Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail then it'll be hilarious. Yeah, but the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the freaking heat. Good thing we'll be indoors most of the time.
Ok, that is all. Hope you all have a great weekend..Such is the life of Joe...
Home sweet home... I'm so tired. Just came back from Tulare last night around midnight thirty and I'm completely exhausted now. Yups, went back to the good old hometown to celebrate my Dad's birthday on Sunday. Wow, he's 65 years old now, but he parties like he's my age...it's so funny. Dad wasn't home when we got there at midnight on Friday...he was probably dancing and singing the night away somewhere. Saturday when we woke up, Dad wasn't there still! I heard him at home, but I think he left before we woke up. I guess he was doing housework at our other house in Visalia...how come he didn't wake me up so that I could've helped him. I totally would've. Cat says that it's because he's used to not having us around the house and doing things by himself and also because he probably feels like we're here for 'vacation' and he doesn't wanna bother us, but I would've loved to help him out. Cat and I decided to go work out at the 24 Hour Fitness in Visalia....the thing is that there is no 24 Hour Fitness in Visalia anymore...and none in like a 60 mile radius. HA HA HA! We just went and ate dinner, headed to the cemetary and visited Mom and left her some new flowers, went shopping at the Outlets and the mall and bought my Dad a new photo printer/scanner for his computer. HOORAY! Saturday Cat and I headed to Craig's cousin Tricia's and Deon's house because they were having a birthday party for their 1 year old daughter and because Dad was out dancing the night away. We got there and saw all of Craig's family and it was great seeing them all again. It's been forever since I last saw them all together. Like I always say...there's only really 2 things that I will come home for. 1.) My Dad and 2.) Craig's extended family. And that's why it was great seeing them all at the party. Crazy to see all the little kids grown up and all the new little kids running around. All the little kids were running around and they were the cutest things ever. Just chilled there and watched the DeLaHoya vs. Mayweather fight. 1.) That fight sucked...DelaHoya was the only one fighting. 2.) That one commentator dude needs to retire...he's soooo old. Afterwards we headed over to Craig's place to just chill where James and Ana met up with us after their long day furniture shopping in SF. Sunday Cat and I went to church and saw some regular faces like my 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Branco (who is also the Mom of one of James's best friends) and of course Father Rick. I love how that guy still recognizes and remembers me and my brother. Met James and Ana up at Apple Annies and afterwards we headed to the cemetary again to put the beatiful new silk flower arrangement that Cat made since the old arrangements that were there had faded. Afterwards, we went back to the house where we decided to do some fixing up. We just changed all the lights in the kitchen and had to go to Home Depot and Big Lots to buy some stuff for the house. Cat and Ana had a great idea that every time we come visit, we need to do one home improvement project. Next project....just cleaning up the clutter. We finally headed out to Tita Norma's in Visalia for my Dad's birthday party. It was good seeing all the auntie's and uncle's again and they were all happy to see James and I. The best thing was seeing how happy my Dad was. He was just laughing, joking around, dancing, singing, and had a smile on his face the whole time. It was great to see. I'm so happy that he has great friends that love him and watch over him. Yes, I do feel guilty at times for being so far away and not visiting as much as I do. He's at home alone and I know that it's hard on him. But seeing all his friends there and how happy he is with them just made me feel good. Yeah, it was good seeing all my old auntie's and uncle's who tell us to visit more often. The funny thing about that is, sometimes when we ARE in town Dad goes off to their place without telling us and without inviting us. I sometimes hear my Tita's saying "how come you didn't come to so and so's party"....well, because I never knew about it. Dad never told us! And I think he does that unconsciously because he doesn't want us there and I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean that he probably thinks we will be bored and stuff since it's mostly just the aunties and uncles singing and dancing. But I think it's also because I think Dad gets embarrassed or guilty when James and I are there. Embarrassed? Guilty? Yeah, I think he feels like he can't be himself and that he can't be having fun. Part of me feels like he thinks we don't approve of what he's doing. That he thinks we don't approve of him having fun after Mom passed away and that he should be mourning her forever. Do we think that? Absolutely not! I LOVE seeing him having fun. I LOVE to see him laughing and dancing and smiling. I LOVE seeing him being the life of the party because that's how he's always been, even when Mom was alive. Watching him have fun and laughing makes it seem like Mom is still here with us having fun and singing, dancing, joking, laughing with him. Watching him having fun makes me remember the good times when we were little kids back in Tulare going to the family parties. I think when he sees us there he thinks we don't approve or he just sees us, which reminds him of Mom, which makes him feel guilty that he is having fun. But everyone knows that Mom wants him to have fun. I know that she's watching him from heaven and just smiling and laughing and dancing with him. That when Dad is having fun, Mom is having fun too. Yeah....so as long as Dad is having fun and smiling, then I'm having fun and smiling and of course Approve of what he's doing. Such is the life of Joe....
Best Show Ever.... Yeah, this week's Heroes was their best show ever. 5 years in the future and you get to see what happened. It was crazy. I'm not gonna spoil it for you, but you have to watch. Best show on TV, hands down. This week's Lost was pretty crazy too. Not gonna spoil it either, but they keep on hinting on that show that they aren't really where they think they are. Hmmmm....are they trying to tell us something or are they trying to trick us? I dunno.... So Cat saw Britney Spears last night at the HOB in Anaheim. She says that she should've sold her tickets. HA HA HA. Yeah, she's not a real big Britney fan...she just wanted to see her in person. She knew that it was only gonna be like 15 minutes and that she'd be lipsyncing (because some of her co-workers went to the SD show), but she still wanted to see it first hand. But she didn't expect Britney to be chewing gum while trying to lipsync and just forgetting the words to "Boys" (well, I guess you really don't need to remember the words if you're just lipsyncing). She said there was so much media and so many cops there (which is why she didn't try scalping her tickets). But I guess all the media were interviewing the Britney fans who loved the performance....and were staying away from all the real people there that hated it. HA HA HA. So this weekend Cat and I are heading to Tulare for Cinco De Mayo!!! WOO HOO!!! Ok, no not really....we're just heading to Tulare because my Dad's birthday is on Sunday (oh yeah Happy early Birthday John John). Yup, he was born on the seis de mayo. So we're just gonna head to Tulare and probably celebrate on Saturday one of my Tita's (friend of the family's) places with karaoke, dancing, drinking, and of course watching the De La Hoya fight!!! So you know what's funny? I'm not a real big De La Hoya fan at all...but I want him to kick Mayweather's ass so bad. It's all the trash talking and over confidence that Mayweather has that pisses me off. It was the same when De La Hoya fought Vargas....I didn't like De La Hoya then, but then Vargas started to talk all this trash and that's when I wanted him to get beat down. I guess I don't like people who are over confident and who talk trash. If you got the skill then you don't have to talk at all...let your boxing do your talking for you. That's just what I think.... Ok, hope everyone is having a great week. Spider-Man 3 comes out on Friday...too bad I'll be on the road to Tulare. But I probably won't watch it for a couple weeks until the crowds die down. I actually didn't watch Spider-Man 2 until it came out on DVD. Crazy, huh? Especially since I'm Mr. Comic Book Guy. Ok, the end.....have a great weekend. Talk to you laters. Such is the life of Joe...
