Survivor!

Ok, so you know what my new favorite show is?  SURVIVOR:  COOK ISLANDS!!!  Soooooo good.  Now, I haven't really watched Survivor at all really except for maybe the first season.  What brought me back to watching this season?  The fact that this time they split the people up into 4 "tribes" based on their ethnicity!  HOW GREAT IS THAT!   And last night's episode did not dissapoint at all since it reinforced some typical stereotypes:
- which team won the challenge based on puzzles?
- which team got last place and couldn't work together?
HA HA HA!  So hilarious!  I'd love to watch this with Ryan to see what comments he'd be making because I sure was making some.  HA HA HA!  Survivor:  Cook Islands is great.  GO ASIAN TEAM!!!

So JT's new album.  I don't really like "sexy back" (especially after Power 106 mixed in that one wedding reception song with it 'jump to the right, 2 times!') but I must admit that his new album is pretty good.  But here's a good way to get drunk....take a shot every time he says the word "girl".

Ok, the weekend is here!  HOORAY!  Hopefully I make some good picks today and I also win my fantasy football matchups.  Hope you all have a great weekend.  Such is the life of Joe...

I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!

First of all.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!!!  You're OLD!  HA HA HA!  Yeah, it was my old roomie, Shawn's birthday on Saturday and since he's all the way up in San Jose I couldn't celebrate with him.  Hope you had a great birthday and drank your ass off to celebrate!!!

What did I do this weekend?  Well, Friday night went to eat some Korean BBQ to celebrate a friends early birthday.  Crazy to see all these faces that I recognize from UCI but didn't (and still) don't really know.  Good times though, even though I gained about 5 pounds from eating all that food.  Mmmmm...delicious.

Saturday, Cat and I headed to Hollywood and just walked around Hollywood and Highland for a little bit, had lunch at Vert and then headed to Santa Monica to our hotel.  We booked a room at Loew's Hotel Santa Monica and we were pleasantly surprised when they told us we got upgraded for free!  We checked out our room and it was soooooo nice.  Our upgrade was a pool and beachside patio, SO AWESOME!  And while we were just resting, taking in the sun on our patio, watching some football, there was a knock on the door.  It was room service brining up a cheese platter and some wine.  WHAT?!  We didn't order anything?  He told me that there was a card and on the card was Cat and my name!  WOW!  It was from the director of sales there at Loew's hotel and it was just a little welcome present.  HOW AWESOME IS THAT!  I guess it really pays to have a girlfriend who works in the industry and knows people who know people.  Tommy met us up at the hotel (where contestants from Miss America, or Miss USA or something were staying) and we chilled and eventually headed out to Lounge 217 in Santa Monica to celebrate Rhian, Aileen, and Ryan's? birthdays.

We got there soooo early..but it's like one minute it's empty and you're the only ones there...the next minute it's packed and you can hardly find a place to stand without getting bumped into.  One minute you're completely sober...the next minute you're completely drunk and doing that Filipino candle dance.  HA HA HA.  Good times though.  Good times.

Sunday was spent WATCHING FOOTBALL!!!  After Cat and I checked out, we headed to 3rd Street Promenade and watched the games at Yankee Doodle.  I was so overwhelmed there.  They had EVERY game on and I didn't know which one to watch and who to root for.  I did like the way the Niners were playing and I think they're gonna do a lot better this year.  It would've been awesome if they had won.  Oh yeah, I had made some bets on the games but I forgot what they were until I got back home after our weekend in Santa Monica.  I had made some crazy bets on college (5, 6, and 7 team parlays) but none of them panned out.  I didn't really mind since I only bet $5 each on them.  But I did win my NFL bets:

Parlay (2 Teams)
5.00/13/64    (paid 18.64)    Result:  Wager Won
49ers(SanFrancisco) 27        09/10/06    (16:20 ET)

49ers(SanFrancisco) 27        09/10/06    (16:20 ET)
Cardinals(Arizona) 34          Over 42.5

Parlay (2 Teams)
5.00/12.85    (paid 17.85)    Result:  Wager Won
49ers(SanFrancisco) 27        09/10/06 (16:20 ET)
Cardinals(Arizona) 34        49ers(SanFrancisco) +7.5

Bengals(Cincinnati) 23        09/10/06    (13:10 ET)
Chiefs(Kansas City) 10        Bengals(Cincinnati) +3 (-115)

OH YEAH, I almost forgot about this bet:

Parlay (6 Teams)

Bengals(Cincinnati) 23        09/10/06 (13:10 ET)
Chiefs(Kansas City) 10        Under 46.5

Panthers(Carolina) 6           Under 39

Ravens(Baltimore) 27         09/10/06 (13:10 ET)

Saints(NewOrleans) 19        09/10/06 (13:10 ET)
Browns(Cleveland) 14        Under 35.5

WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!  I won a 6 team parlay!  40 times my money!  $5 got me $200!!!  Yeah yeah yeah..I know, shoulda woulda coulda bet more...but I'm happy with my winnings.  PLUS!  I didn't lose in my Fantasy Football! (alright, I tied, but it's better than losing).  I LOVE FOOTBALL!

Ok, time to study the odds and pick more winners for next week.  Hope you all have a great week.  Such is the life of Joe...

I'm Dark
What a great Labor Day weekend!!! I love me 3 day weekends. It started by picking my Fantasy Football team at Danny's house. I made a couple mistakes, but I think my team is gonna be good. Yeah, Friday was pretty kick back and relaxing and indoors which was a stark contrast to the rest of the weekend.

Saturday went to the beach and spent a couple hours out there. It was perfect, we found parking right away (which was surprising since it was Labor Day weekend) and the sun was shining, the beach wasn't too crowded, and the water was nice (well...it was really cold at first, but then once you jumped in it was perfect...much better than burning in the sun). Yeah, so I spent most of my day there in the water just chilling out and bouncing up and down in the waves. So on Saturday I got 2 shades darker.

Cat and I went and watched Little Miss Sunshine later that night, and it was hilarious!!! You have to watch it! I was pretty surprised at how packed the movie theater was. We watched it in one of the main theaters, not one of the small theaters down the hallway, and it was packed. Yeah, but I really liked it...go watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Sunday, Cat, Tommy, and I drove down to San Diego (Otay Lake more specifically) so that they could go skydiving! WOW! It was Cat, Tommy, Lou, Belle, Ryan, and John John that went to skydive! The cool thing about the place was that spectators could watch from maybe 30 feet away from where they landed. Bad part about the place...was that it was HOT AS HELL!!! Yeah, we were there for maybe 4 hours just waiting for them to jump. I got 6 shades darker that day...and a lil sunburnt. But it was worth it watching my friends have the time of their lives jumping out of a plane from 13,000 feet!!!

Tommy was Pweh Pweh though afterwards...shouldn't drink at a wedding (the skydiving place said no alcohol 12 hours prior to jumping), don't drink any water the day of, and stand in the freaking sun, plus the spinning of skydiving probably didn't help either. I'm sure he'll tell you all about it...

Visited Cat in their incredible house. Belle and them checked into their hotel where we kicked it and got ready...and then we headed to the Yardhouse to eat and drink and celebrate Lou's birthday. Good times chilling with my friends. Cat, Tommy, and I headed back to OC later that night as the others went to another bar. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOU! I hope you had a great time. I'm sure you won't forget this birthday anytime soon.

Monday was just spent chilling at home and swimming in the pool..where I got another 4 shades darker. So in total I am 12 shades darker than I was on Friday...and man am I tired!!!

Well, that's all for now. Hope you guys had as great a Labor Day weekend as I did. Such is the life of Joe...
