Stupid Citibank
So the ONLY reason that I have my Citibank Dividend Platinum Rewards card is because I get 5% cash back at Gas Stations, Grocery Stores, and Drug Stores and 1% on every other purchase. So I've been getting back like $250+ back each year. But I just got a notice from Citibank saying that they're dropping that 5% back to only 2%!!! WHAT THE HELL!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! So I'm kinda looking for another card where I can get more cash back.

So this Friday is my NFL Fantasy Football Draft! HOORAY! I need to put my list of players up. So for QB I'm wondering between Brett Favre or Philip Rivers and my RB is gonna be Priest Holmes. WR will be the legendary Jerry Rice. Sounds pretty good, huh?

College football starts Saturday too and the NFL football season is almost started. You know what that means....time to deposit some money into my Sportsbook account and do some betting! I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!

So who watched the Entourage Season Finale? S'alright episode and of course it's gonna leave us with sort of a cliffhanger. But I think it kinda sucked. Johnny Drama actually knew what he was talking about, Ari messed up, Bob is an idiot, and Lloyd is hilarious. Yeah, don't worry...it'll be back in February so we don't have to wait too long.

So what's everyone doing for this Labor Day weekend? Me at least on Sunday I'll be in San Diego for skydiving. ME SKYDIVING?!?!?! NO WAY! I'll be there to watch Cat skydive...not me!!! You're crazy! You're talking to a guy who gets dizzy looking down from the 2nd floor of the mall.

Ok, everyone have a great week. Such is the life of Joe...

Pants Party
So everyone makes a big deal about my raw denim Nudies that I've been wearing for the past 10+ months without any wash. WHAT?!?! EWWWWW!!!??? WHY!?!?!?

My jeans are Nudie Straight Sven Dry Selvage jeans. Dry? I don't get it. Well, basically they are just untreated unwashed denim. As the Nudie Jeans Website describes them:

Dry, dark unwashed denim, is the strongest and most durable alternative, and will also give the most personal result. Use your dry jeans as much as possible before the first wash. Six months is a good start. A pair of jeans is like a second skin where the indigo and denim are living materials. Jeans is all about passion and deep relationship – the more you wear and treat your jeans, the more beautiful they get. Your everyday life gives the denim its unique character, formed by you into a second skin – personal and naked. As long as they are dry (dark and stiff) they have a surface, almost like they are water resistant. You should not try to clean local spots as it removes the indigo and you will get a bleach spot for a long time. The longer you can keep them unwashed, the more beautiful they will get.

So I haven't washed them and I'm still breaking them in. Check out the Gallery for some picures of broken in jeans. You can also check out www.mynudies.com for other people's jeans.

Yeah, so no wash for 10+ months. Do they stink? No, not really...when they start to stink I'll spray some lysol (kills 99.9% of the germs) on it. I febreeze it like every week, and let it air out. I'll probably wash them around the 1 year mark...Cat joked around that it would be a momentous occassion and I should have a "pants party" (ha ha ha, get it, like from "Anchorman"?...do you wanna go to the pants party?).

Here are some pictures (notice how stiff and straight they were when I first got them and check out broken in and faded and wrinkled it is now....SGREAT!):

Some people are sneakerheads, some people love shoes, some people need purses and bags...me, I like my denim. Such is the life of Joe...

BEST BURGERS EVER!
So...I haven't updated in a while. The partial reason is because there was something wrong with my webhost. I've tried to blog but it just wouldn't post on my website. My brother finally fixed it...THANKS JAMES!!!

So another weekend has come to an end. This weekend was patially spent up in Agoura Hills (WHOOP WHOOP!). Cat and I first headed up to my Tita's house in Palos Verdes to celebrate my cousin Katrina's 20th birthday (even though I thought it was her 19th, birthday...boo, i'm a bad cousin, huh?). Then we headed out to Agoura Hills to meet up with Danny and Danielle and headed out to Tangerine in Hollywood for Danielle's coworker's bday party.

Tagnerine was just a bar/restaurant but the hightlight of the night was watching Drunk Danielle have an in depth conversation with Chef Brian, the owner of Tangerine. You might remember him if you watched "Top Chef". He was the VERY FIRST person kicked off. Danielle just would keep going and talking to him and telling him things like "[I] really wanted you to win...". I think Danielle made Chef Brian's night because he seemed so happy to be recognized. Good times, good times.

Saturday, Cat and I went to the Camarillo Outlets and did a little shopping. Then we met up with Danny and Danielle and headed to Father's Office for the "BEST BURGERS IN THE USA". This place was voted by Esquire Magazine as having the best burgers in the entire United States in 2001 and Daneille recommended it. We got there around 4ish and had to wait in line outside. You see, the place is tiny and has a 49 person capacity. Once it reaches capacity, it's one in one out. It's primarily a bar and so there's no table service or anything, you gotta order at the bar. But the burgers are delish!!! MMMMMM!!! It's not your regular ground beef on a sesame seed bun, it's aged beef patty with carmelized onion, applewood bacon compote, gruyere, matag blue cheese and arugula. Sgood! Plus the fries aren't too bad either. Shoestring fries are my favorite but they did have sweet potato fries (which would've been better if they were made shoestring style). Mmmm...delicious. But you better like everything the way they serve it...they're look at you the wrong way if you ask for ketchup or any other condiments than what you are served. They also have a good selection of beer. So check it out when you have a chance...but be prepared to wait outside in line.

We were so full from eating that we headed out to 3rd Street in Santa Monica and just walked around. Good times hanging out in LA. Cat and I headed back to the OC and just chilled on Sunday. The end. So yes, that's my weekend update. Hope you all had as great a weekend as I did. Such is the life of Joe...

Weekend Update

Went and watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on Friday at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach.  That movie is HILARIOUS!!!  "Don't make me windmill you...."  HA HA HA!  Yeah, but Bella Terra is pretty nice, except that there is WAY too many teenagers there.  The theaters there are really nice...Century Theaters with it's cafeteria style "help-yourself" concession stand.  Saturday went to Tita's house to celebrate my little neice, Malina's, first birthday.  Soooo cute, her and her older sister Makaylee (who's 2 and a half).  After my tita's thing I got tired and lazy and missed out on a chance to meet John Mayer (well, missed my chance to see John Mayer run for his life from Riann).  Sunday just chilled, played some tennis, swam a little and the end.....

Wait a minute....that was LAST weekend.  Yeah, I know I've been MIA.  Just been super busy at work and haven't had access to internet at work at all really.  This past weekend was good too.  Saturday was spent at Bolsa Chica beach to celebrate Chris, Rachele, and Matt's birthdays.  It was a nice day at the beach with friends...too bad it was kinda cold and windy and it only got colder as the sun set.  What sucked was that we didn't have a fire pit at all.  This one group of people had the fire pit which we were looking to steal because they only had like 2 pieces of wood.  BUT they did have a big ass pallet, but you can't burn pallets and they couldn't break it down.  So they basically conserve their 2 pieces of wood until it gets pitch black and just burn that for the night and eventually burn the pallet.  It's alright...we made our own bonfire in our bbq grill...too bad we got caught by the rangers.  But thanks for a great time guys.  Good to see everyone again.

Sunday went to church, played some tennis and swam and then headed out to dinner with Cat, Joes, Karen, Belle, and Lou at Maggiano's for dinner before we watching "WICKED"!!!  HOORAY!  Yeah, this is my first musical that I've watched since I was like 12 watching "Starlight Express" at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.  We got AWESOME seats thanks to Joes and Karen and the show was great!  I liked how it tied all these things together with the "Wizard of Oz".  Now I can't help but feel sorry for the Witch when I watch the "Wizard of Oz" again.  Time to read the book (although I've heard that it's really nothing like the musical).  Thanks Joes and Karen for hooking up the tickets and great seats.

Well, that's it for now.  Yeah, I know I need to keep up this thing more often.  Hope you all have a great week.  Such is the life of Joe...
