Such is the life of Joe...
Joe MamaGreat weekend filled with family and friends, those are the best kinds of weekends. Friday was spent ice skating and broomballing. Man, I haven't ice skated in the longest time. I was so uncomfortable on the ice...for the first 5 minutes, then I got the hang of it. It was pretty fun being out there on the ice. Then after ice skating was broomballing, did I ever tell you how tiring broomball is? Freaking running up and down the ice is so tiring. At least I scored 2 goals! YES! Too bad we lost. Man, afterwards, I was sore and I freaking felt soooo sick. I was afraid that I was gonna wake up sick the next day. Saturday I woke up to sore legs mainly from ice skating. I haven't used those muscles in a long time, and so they were freaking sore. I headed out to my Tita's for the Santo Nino party and just hung out with my relatives, ate a lot of food and chilled. Even Tommy made it out to hang out for a little bit. (Sorry Danielle for not making it out to your birthday celebration at your house). We then headed out to Zanzibar for Danielle's birthday. Good times there just drinking, dancing, staying away from crazy looking guy, and enjoying the girls dancing on the stage (ummmmm...no). Ate at Swingers and then drove all the way back home to Irvine...and got home at 3am. MAN! Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIELLE! I hope you had a birthday celebration and hope you had a great time at Zanzibar. You didn't look drunk at all.
Sorry Jay for not making it out to your birthday celebration, hope you had a great time. I would've stopped by your place afterwards, but you wouldn't have remembered since you were so drunk (or so I heard).
Today I had lunch with my brother James, Ana, and my cousin Alan at South Coast. We did a little shopping beforehand too and I got the BEST t-shirt EVER!!! Check it out!!!:
How awesome is that?!?!?! Sgreat, huh!?!?!
Yeah, great weekend. Hope you all had as much fun as I did. But guess what, the start of another work week. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Such is the life of Joe...
Would you?HAPPY BIRTHDAY FANTONE!!! My former carpool buddy!!! Hope you have a great day today and can't wait to celebrate OC stylez! OC fo life! (until I move, that is) ;-p So it's that time of the month again. Yups, I dunno what it is...but I'm in that lil funk once again. Last time I was like this was almost excactly a month again (Christmas Eve). You know what set it off? I was just stressed out at work. I know..WOW, crazy, huh? That's how it goes though, I get stressed out at work...then I think why the hell am I here and why the hell do I care, it's not like I care about this job anyway. Then my mind just fills up with all these thoughts, doubts, regrets, and things I should do. Just stressed with work and other things on my mind. Sucks!!!
Yesterday was pretty bad actually. I just wanted to go home (like I do today) but I seriously needed to get out of the lab and just step away for a while. So I just went walking around the building and warehouse. I mean, it's not something that I couldn't deal with. It's just that it was something small that I normally could finish in one hour wasn't cooperating with me and I had to repeat and repeat and repeat it until I got it right...and that took the whole day.
This weekend will be great though. That's what I'm looking forward to. That's what's gonna get me out of my funk this month. I can't wait until ice skating (maybe), broomball, seeing the family at the Santo Nino festival, and getting Danielle drunk off her ass for her birthday. Yeah....that's what the weekends are made for. I'm soooo over this week.
So LOST, sucked again. Not suspenseful at all. And I told you....I HATE CHARLIE! The end. That's all I have to say about that.
So would you? I mean, it IS jessica alba! Oh yeah...I got a couple of new ones too, so remind me to tell you.
Such is the life of Joe...
101 Traffic SucksCONGRATULATIONS ANNA!!!! Yay to new jobs!!! HOORAY! Must be nice, must be nice. You always said that you loved even numbered years, and I guess that you were right! 2006 is starting off great for you! Congratulations again!!! Friday night I did nothing and it was great. Yeah, I could've went out, but I was lazy tonight and decided to just chill at home, watch my Battlestar Galactica and back up some stuff on my computer since the hard drive was getting full. Ahhhhhh...lazy nights are great.
Saturday I went to LA to go to Melissa's birthday celebration at El Torrito. Thank you to Mr. James for buying a round of margaritas. Wow...it hit me pretty hard, since I was starving. And watching Gwen, Mel, Pat, James, and Fantone take that Patron shot kinda made me nauseated. YUCK! The smell just got to me!!! Good times just eating and hanging out and joking around. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL!!! Sorry we didn't head out to Rage later that night. Parking was crap, cover was high, and Pat needed to take a massive piss. Hope you had a great time there and hope you have a great birthday week!!!
Oh yeah, I forgot. Before I went to Pat's on Saturday I spent a good hour at Camarillo outlets and just hit 4 stores (I really just wanted to go to 2 stores but I'm glad I went the other stores because I actually did buy something). Love that American Apparel store because everything there is discounted...the only thing is that you gotta be careful and check out all their stuff becuase some of their stuff is irregular. Sorry I didn't call any ya'll but I was short on time and you know me and shopping with people...I don't buy stuff.
Yeah, you can add that as one of my complexes. I tend to not buy anything when I'm shopping with others. Instead, I'll just look and then go back the next day and actually buy it. Part of it is to see if I really really want it because if I don't really want it, I won't go back. Don't get me wrong, if I can't go back to that place conveniently and I find something there I'll buy it, and I'll buy something when people are around if it's something small and inexpensive. But not if it's a major purchase because I don't wanna hear onslaught of "you paid how much for what?". BLAH BLAH BLAH.
HOORAY!!! I got new flash drive to replace the one that I lost. This time it's 1gb instead of 512mb. Why so much? Why not. You'll never know when you'll need to transfer files or watch movies at work or what not. This time it'll stay attached on my keychain instead of just being carried freely in my pocket. I need one of those keychains where you can detach keys so it'll be more convenient...too bad Gucci doesn't make any of them (I've checked). Now I just need to buy a new pair of sunglasses and I'll have replaced everything that I've lost.
Ok, that was my weekend. I hope you all had a great weekend too. Hopefully this week will go quick. Freaking busy weekend coming up. I have more planned than I thought I did. DAMMIT! Actually the next couple of weekends are gonna be hectic, dammit. Good thing I had that lazy Friday.
Well, have a great week!!! P.S. I kick ass in driving games, now I just gotta work on my bowling game. Such is the life of Joe...
BiznatchesSo everyone knows joe-speak right? Everyone knows if I can cuss you out then I consider you a friend. If I call you names and tell you to shut up, that just means you've reached my comfort level and you're one of my friends. Bitch is a term of endearment in my vocabulary, right? Right. My friends are biznatches. Ok, correction...my LA friends are biznatches...and that's part of the reason I love them so. They aren't afraid to say what's on their mind or to tell you the truth. But a big NOTE TO SELF: when I do get a gifriend, DO NOT let my LA friends meet them. I swear, they're the biggest ish talkers around. If one of the girls in the group were to bring one of their guys around, I really don't think it would be that bad, because the guys are asses but not really mean. But if one of the guys brings their new girl around....OHHHHH man, those girls will have a field day picking her apart. And yes, I do understand that it's part of the initiation process and everyone will go through it. But dude, it's so bad... So once again, when I get a girlfriend, stop being friends with the LA people (I'll miss you all). Such is the life of Joe...
Ok, OkWhat a great weekend. No, I didn't take advantage of the 3 day weekend because I have work on Monday!!! So there was no Tahoe for me or no Mammoth for me, but I still had one of the funnest weekends this year (well, I guess that isn't saying much since we've only had 3 weekends this year so far). But it was great. I'm sure I would've had fun in Mammoth or Tahoe with everyone that went there, but I'm glad I had fun without having to drive hours and hours away. Friday I headed out to the Conga Room where we danced the night away to some crappy DJ and the worst part of the night was when they played "Gasolina". And it wasn't the normal version, it was like the EXTENDED version. I mean, it seemed like it played for freaking 10 minutes, it was so bad. I should've known, since we WERE at the Conga Room. Ohhhhh man, and they all crowded around me and laughed and pointed and wouldn't let me leave the dance floor. Thanks. Thanks a lot. BOOOOOO!!!!
Joe's co-worker was there and he knows my history with Patron (he freaking called me Joe Patron, dammit). So what does he make us take? Patron shots!!! Joe and JC took theirs in one gulp, easy for them...I had to divide my shot into 3 shots (take a gulp, suck the lime, take another gulp, suck the lime, finish the shot, suck the lime). Yeah, and this is after a few drinks of other stuff so I was feeling pretty good. And right before we took off, JC finds us and gets us one more Patron shot. GREAT!
I was pretty gone that night. I had no idea what I was talking about in the car ride back home at all. Pat and Rach were telling me about it but it didn't ring any bell for me because I had no idea what they were talking about. Good thing Pat had video of it, huh? BLAH! Yeah, so when we got back I just crashed...should've went to get something to eat or should've had a lot more water because I paid for it in the morning. I woke up at 5:30am to throw up. Since I had nothing in my stomach to throw up...all that came out was stomach acid. My throat hurt and my teeth enamel were all burned off and they felt raw the whole day. It was nasty, but at least I felt a lot better and went back to sleep.
Had lunch with Theda on Saturday and took her to eat at Roscoe's in Pasadena. This is the first time that she's been to Roscoe's and she liked it. Sooooooooo good though, I haven't had Roscoe's in a while. Perfect hangover food, so good. We then walked around Old Town Pasadena and did a little window shopping. Good times, thanks for hanging out Theda. See! No more guilt trips about not visiting you anymore!!!
Went back to Pat's to chill and drink and play some Gamecube. Dude, Donkey Konga the one where you have to play along with different songs, is soooooooooo much fun, especially when you have a couple of drinks in you. Mario Party with 8 people who are intoxicated is just plain comedy...I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Ohhhhhhhh man, with Emmie as bartender, we were all drunk off our asses. And the naughty boys were in full effect, just ask Rach. HA HA HA.
Woke up with a small headache and just chilled and lounged around watching a crazy end to the Steelers/Colt's game (sorry Lou). I then headed home to chill and go to church. Jon and Jevon came over a little later and we just smoked some hookah and chilled for the night. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....what a weekend.
Well, as you're all probably reading this on a Tuesday (since you probably didn't go to work on Monday) I'll be bored off my ass on Monday in the lab. Yes, I could call in sick, but I won't. If i want to leave early/call it a short day I'll just leave. We'll play it by ear. Such is the life of Joe...
Coochie CooI've learned that it's alright to put down a girl and make uncomplementary remarks about her as long as you end it with "coochie coo!!!" HA HA HA. Thanks for the laughs and TONS of food at happy hour. Good times. I've proven myself in video race car driving by kicking SOMEONE'S ass. The first two were flukes, that's the way it's gonna be from now on. Ahhhhh...the taste of victory.
Oh yeah, and the Office is hilarious. I was crying after the first 5 minutes from laughter. HA HA HA!
TGIF. Looks like I'll be up in LA this whole weekend. Holla back if you wanna hang out! Such is the life of Joe...
Eko Is BadassSo yeah, CONGRATULATIONS to CYN and GARY on their recent engagement!!! I'm so happy for the both of you. Such a great story of how Gary proposed. If you see Cyn ask her to tell you about it. I love LOST. I still hate Charlie. Eko is a badass. This week's thoughts on LOST: Ok, so backstory on Eko...a pretty good one too. I still hate Charlie though. I really do. Here's my thoughts: - There's NO WAY that a small plane like that can go from Nigeria to the South Pacific. It's impossible. So that either means they aren't in the South Pacific, right? - Think of all the people on the island that has killed someone in their past. Sawyer, Kate, Analucia, Eko, Jin (wait, did Jin kill someone?). Well, that can't be coincidence. - This episode was so religious, so it brings up the question. Are they all really dead and in purgatory right now (like some people believe)? - Did you see the smoke? Did you see the images in the smoke (thanks Cat)? They were basically small flashes of Eko's history. Like they were images from his background story. So perhaps the smoke is made up of everyone's past sins and that's why everyone is so scared of it, except for Eko who is religious and isnt' ashamed for what he's done because it's led him to the Lord? (thanks Danielle). - Remember, Locke is the only other person that went face to face with the smoke. So has Locke also come to terms with his past? And what is his sin? What is EVERYONE elses sin...have they all killed someone? - Freeze frame Eko's club and you'll see the following: 23rd Psalm, "Hateth", Revelation 5:3 or Revelations:3, Titus:3 and some more I couldn't make out all biblical references, I'm sure if you look them up it'll tell you something. - Is Michael crazy? Is he really talking to someone on the computer or is it all in his mind. I mean, next episode he goes crazy, so maybe, right? Also when Jack checked out the screen it was blank, I didn't see Michael hit the power switch on the monitor. Hmmmm.... This is what I heard on Kevin and Bean: - That if you enter Hurley's numbers (whatever they are, I forget now) as latitude and longitude and minutes that the first 3 bring up a point in Nigeria and the last 3 bring up a point in the South Pacific. What does that mean? Probably absolutely nothing. - That the song Charlie was singing while fishing w/ Jin is a Kink's song called "He's Evil". Hmmmm....interesting Charlie is singing it. (Kevin and Bean thought it was interesting that he was singing it before Eko arrived and it is Echo's episode, so who's the evil one? Charlie or Eko?)
I love Thursday. It's almost Friday, but it's not. Not going to Tahoe or Mammoth this weekend for snowboarding. Yeah, I know...I suck. I dunno, I'm lazy...if it was like a 2 hour drive then I'd probably be up for it. If it wans't so expensive, then I'd probably be up for it. But I'm not, sorry. I hope you all have a great time though. Be safe and have lots of fun so I can regret not going. WOO HOO!!! Snowboarding!!! Ok, that's it for now. Such is the life of Joe...
I Must Be EmoFirst of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! to a a couple of my friends that just got engaged!!! I dunno if you want it publicized, because I'm sure you'd rather have them hear it from you personally, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!. Disneyland really IS the happiest place on earth, huh? I Must Be Emo, freaking hilarious!!! If you aren't laughing at it, then you either have no idea what emo is or you consider yourself emo. HA HA HA! Hilarious! You wanna know how I know you're gay? you call yourself emo.
Ok, peeing in the shower. Yay or nay? Ok, so a majority of guys that I've asked, say that they don't piss in the shower. BUT surprisingly, ALL the girls that I have asked, say they piss in the shower. WHAT THE HECK! The toilet is right there, why didn't you take care of that beforehand? Do you drink the shower water and stay in there so long that it makes your way through you already!?!? My routine for taking a shower is as follows: get naked, take a piss IN THE TOILET, then take a shower. If you follow this routine, you will never have the urge to take a piss. I mean, sometimes I don't piss that much, beforehand, but at least I get everything out before going in the shower and having the urge to go in there. Yeah, maybe it's a girl thing then? Girls piss in the shower, guys jack off in there. I guess...whatever...
Ok, all ya'll that I didn't get to email or IM, Shutterfly has a couple coupon codes for free prints at Shutterfly:
- (50) 4x6 prints with coupon code FL50-PRTS (i think this expired already)
- (30) 4x6 prints with coupon code 30UP-ROMI
- (10) 4x6, (3) 5x7, (3) 8x10 with coupon code SW03-PRTS
Work still sucks, there was nothing to do today at all. I just basically sat on my ass doing nothing, pretending to work and stuff. Sgreat. I actually went to work at 10:30 and just left at 7pm today. what did I do for the last 3 hours though? Sit on my ass in front of the computer and chatted and surfed the web. It was great!!! Actually, it was pretty boring, I should've left early and went to work out, but i didn't. Gotta get back into the workout mode. I've been lazy and I've been dreading it becuase I know it's gonna be PACKED with all the fat asses that're trying to lose weight in vain. (ok, I'm mean, but count me as one of those fat asses). I thought that I would lose a lot of weight since I don't eat as much during lunch anymore, but I'm still the same. DAMMIT! Hurry up metabolism and get going!!!
Ok, that's it for now. Hope you all have a good Tuesday. Such is the life of Joe...
Laffy TaffyWhat a week, what a week. Yeah, I haven't blogged in a while but that's not because I didn't have time to. All this week at work, I've been sitting on my ass and just doing jobs here and there at work, just busy work, to keep me from falling asleep. It's so freaking slow at work. I lost money to stupid USC. But let's not talk about that game. We'll talk about where I watched it at. Watched it at Jon and Flori's. Thank's for having us over!!! Mmmmmmm...beer and burgers and a football game. Thank you also to Flori for buying me 4 boxes of tobacco for the hookah! Mmmmmm....mixed burry, churry, banana, and raspburry...but no strawburry.
Happy 1st birthday Regi!!! Spent time at D&B's to celebrate Regi's 1st birthday. It was goodtimes hanging out and seeing some people that I haven't seen in a while. Hilarious to see Regi wearing all the stuff people bought him with the tickets they won. HA HA HA! AND I want to say that I would've kicked ass on the 2nd race had not Tommy been rubbing me in his car on the final straight-away. MAN!!!!
Happy birthday Dana!!! Celebrated Dana's birthday on Friday at Antonio and Vinci's in Fullerton. Good times hanging out and great conversation (which I will blog about in a separate blog). What was funny is after we finished up we just chilled outside for maybe a good 45 minutes just talking and coming up with random movie quotes. Jay and his ballerina tae kwon do, HA HA HA! hilarious!!! It's so funny because as us guys were just spouting off movie quote after movie quote, the girls eventually inched away and made their own circle, talking about names they want for their kids. HA HA HA! Went to Denny's afterwards for dessert, mmmmm...apple pie a la mode.
Saturday was spent just watching the Patriots kick ass with Cat (damn, I should've bet a lot more on that game). Headed out to Jack Shrimp which I've NEVER heard of before, where I astounded Cat with my skills of deshelling shrimp using my utensils. Then headed out to Mai Tai to meet up with Theda there. Dude, so freaking crowded there, and there's always people there that you run into that you don't expect to. Yup, I actually got out of the house instead of doing nothing, it was great. Thanks for hanging out!!!
Today I did NOTHING at all. And it was GREAT!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Well, that was my weekend wrap up. Hope yours was as much fun as mine. Such is the life of Joe...
Almost ThereThis year I resolve to be MORE lazy and MORE of an ass. The end. Something I can easily do. And I'm getting a good start this year. The first 2 days this year, I lay in bed for most of the day only to leave the house for food, church, and to return some gifts yesterday. The end of 2005 was pretty cool though. On Friday night was the COF gift exchange, yes, it was AFTER Christmas but still, it was good times with lots of food and good friends. So funny because we were missing some people since they're in Hawaii to celebrate the new year there. So Gwen calls Pat to say hello and Pat's says "Gwen says hello" and we all go "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" ha ha ha! hilarious. That's what you get for being in Hawaii. (j/k I hope you all are having a great time there...I'm sure you are).
So guess what I got from my Secret Santa? I totally forgot what I had put on my wish list, but this is what I saw when I opened the box:

HOORAY! Gucci gift card!!! THANKS ANNIE!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!! Check out the packaging on that thing. Sooooooooo fancy just for a gift card. Sgreat!!! I think I'm gonna carry around the bag it came in just as a man purse. HA HA HA! So New Years Eve was looking pretty boring. Yeah, I had options to go here and there, but here and there were all 5+ hours away (there's always next year). Nothing planned, but then Joesan called out a get together at our place. Awesome! So instead of doing nothing and sitting in my bed crying as the year ended. I got to celebrate with some good friends just playing Puzzle Fighter, drinking, playing Scene It, smoking the hookah, playing mafia, and just enjoying the company of each other as the new year ended. Thanks for making the end of 2005 and the start of 2006 so much fun!
2006 is a new year. Time to forget all those disagreements in the past. Time to have a nice new clean slate and reconnect with some people that you might have stopped talking to. Time to go and reach out for that big goal you've always wanted. Me? My new years resolution is to get a new bed. YES! Such is the life of Joe...
2005So it's the end of yet another year. And what a year it was. My favorite year yet? Hmmmmm...yeah, since I have a pretty bad memory of years past, I'll have to say that 2005 was probably the best year yet. I mean, how could this year be bad when you start it off drunk and with good friends??? It's the first time that I've really done something for New Years and it was great.
This year was filled with births (my little neice Malina). Weddings: Congratulations to Brittani, Ken, the Delfins and everyone else that got married this year. And Graduations...I swear this was the year of graduations. Everyone graduating from their Masters programs and accomplishing their goals to be successful. Congratulations to all you new nurses, OT's, PT's, teachers, dental hygenists, school administrators and counselors, and everyone else that graduated this year.
Why was this year so much fun? I only went to Vegas once this year. But ohhhhhh man, what a great time that was!!! One of the top trips to Vegas that I've ever had. A grip of people, lots of alcohol, and some drama make it one of the things that stands out in my mind this year.
I got back to snowboarding for the first time in like 2 years when I went to Mammoth. Yes, the snowboarding was fun, but spending time with the friends was even greater. Making snowman outside, sledding down the hill, playing Catch Phrase, playing liquor chess, and who can forget the freaking hike in the cold as we tried to make it back to the cabin after snowboarding. HA HA HA! Good times good times...we'll see if I'm up for it again in Tahoe. We'll see.
All the traveling that I did this year was great too. You can't really count Vegas as a destination. But this year did see me in Chicago which was an awesome trip. Surrounded by friends and also the great city of Chicago. Seriously, you need to visit that place to enjoy the architecture alone...plus the great shopping!!! (booo on 9% sales tax though). And 2005 also saw me out of the country and to one of the places that I've wanted to visit for a long time, Costa Rica. The best vacation I had all year. Hot springs, canopy tour, white river rafting, the rain forest, the beach...it was so awesome and way too short. Thanks to all the people I've traveled with for making it such memorable experiences...without you guys on any of these trips, I wouldn't have had any fun at all (ok, maybe a little in Costa Rica...hard not to have fun there). Whachacallit? HA!
This year friendships with people really blossomed. Countless numbers of people that I really just counted as aquaintances the year before have made that leap to full friendship this year.
James moved out and up to Alameda with Ana which allowed Joesan and Karen to move in. This was awesome because Joesan has a huge TV, TIVO, and my rent went down by a lot. I mean....this was awesome because Joesan and Karen are awesome people and it's great to have them as my roomates!!! Honey? Honey? I'm home.....
Pat and Gwen moved to LA. How does that relate to me? Well, now that they're in LA I have a place to crash. I think that I've spent more time in LA this year more than any other years combined. Thank you to Gwen and Pat for being so hospitable with me and offering me a futon to crash on every time I ventured up to LA and my very own house slippers.
ANd yes, I'm still working here at the same place. Even though I've seen Mansi leave, Danielle leave, and finally Cat leave me here. Sad to see them go...but so very happy that they worked here. Working with them made my friendship with them so much stronger, something that wouldn't have happened had we not worked together.
- Because of this year I can no longer listen to "Lean On Me" without cracking a smile. - Because of this year I know never to hide someones shirt, even if it is a joke. - Because of this year I know to never pour water on someone or else they'll start a water fight. - Because of this year I know never to have my birthday celebration at a place that serves alcohol. - Because of this year I know never to wear an ugly shirt around a certain someone. - Because of this year I know that talking a certain way is contaguious YOU know that talking a certain way is contaguious. - Because of this year I know if you drop someone on their ass while giving them a piggy back ride, they'll never let you do it again - Because of this year I realize it sucks to work without any friends. - Because of this year I know that everyone wants me to quit my job. - Because of this year I know to never make fun of a certain group of tourists or else they'll follow you around the whole trip. - Because of this year I know to never trust an old man with a stick in giving you directions to which ski run to take back to your cabin. - Because of this year I gained 15 pounds thanks to someone for making me go out to lunch with them. - Because of this year I know it not FOE it FUH!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Such was the year of Joe....
