Such is the life of Joe...
Addicted
Dude, I'm addicted again. The ONLY 2 comics I will buy now on a monthly basis are "Astonishing X-Men" and "Identity Crisis". Joss Whedon is a great writer...I love his take on the X-Men...I dare not pick up any other "X" books or I might get addicted to them too. (so how are the other "X-books" jevon?). And the first issue of "Identity Crisis" is the best comic I've read in a year...(ok ok...out of only maybe 5 comics I've read the past year, but still...it's the best). The whole set up was great...got me so emotionally connected with the character who was killed. Great story. Great mystery too...who killer them? why? and what secrets are those members of the JLA hiding? (help me berto!). I know I should just wait until the graphic novel...but I'm so enwrapped in the story already.
Oh yeah...and Sorry to John John for making that prank call on Saturday. It was Chris's idea! Good times though...good laughs. Such is the life of Joe...
"It's Oh So Quiet" - Bjork
Tulare was boring. I did nothing but do my laundry. Well, I did get to hang out with Dad for a little bit. We ate, we went to the Palace Casino (Indian Gaming Casino 20 minutes from Tulare), then he played Mah Jong from like 5pm until 5am that night. Tulare was boring but that's not a bad thing. I got to see my Dad and just relax. Every time I go back to Tulare I miss it more and more? Is that weird? I keep on telling myself that I'm going to fix up my room, get rid of old furniture and junk, put a nice entertainment system in there, and maybe put new carpet and new paint. But that's too much work for someone who only visits 4 times a year at the most. Yeah, I miss it more and more...why? Just because I realize how alone Dad is up there. Yeah, he has my cousin who lives with us now, and Tita Christy and the family there, and all his friends in the surrounding towns, but the house is just too quiet. Even with his Karaoke music playing loudly...it's still too quiet in that house, you know? So maybe instead of quarterly trips back home, I should make them more like monthly trips back home. Trips back home to do nothing but sit in my room, watch TV, and do laundry. But also trips back home to maybe make the house a little less quiet. Such is the life of Joe...
Hawaii Shmawaii
So Tommy, Cile, and the LA People are in Hawaii enjoying everything. I wasn't really jealous...until the middle of work today! BOO!!! Hawaii shmawaii!!! All day at work I was wondering what they were doing...probably disappointed at the ghetto ass Aston Coral Reef that they're staying at (HA HA HA! that actually made me happy), but then walking around International Marketplace, then going across the street to Waikiki beach, putting your toes on the white sand, going into the glass blue ocean that's a perfect 80 degrees, and checking out all the just graduated high school girls, I mean, college girls...I mean 26 year olds that I'm into. I'm JEALOUS! BOO!!!!
Off to Tulare for the weekend. Going to Tulare for a couple of reasons.
1. Tommy's in Hawaii and James is up in Alameda so that apartment is gonna be empty (except for the killer attack dogs, that is).
2. Dad got back from the PI recently so I'm hoping he brought back lots of pasalubong (is that how you spell "presents"?)
3. It's FATHERS DAY on Sunday! Of course I'm gonna go back home!!!
I'm actually looking forward to going back home. Hopefully, I can clean up everything in my messy ass room and I get to chill and do nothing at all. HOORAY!
Well, I'd like to congratulate my lil bro, Reggie, for graduating as the Class of 2004 at UCI! HOORAY! CONGRATULATIONS! CELEBRATIONS GALORE! Good luck in the sun and the long ass ceremony for Social Sciences. I'm sorry I can't be there. Just think of it this way...not only do I treat my lil sis badly, I also treat my lil bro badly, but it's because I care....that makes no sense at all. Well, congratulations again to Reggie and all the graduates of 2004!!! Such is the life of Joe...
Gmail
Dude, better get rid of those Gmail invites quickly...they're dropping in price. Current average price is around $10-15...compare that to $90 or so that Cici got like 2 weeks ago...and the $30 that I got maybe a month ago. Check your gmail accounts again...they just gave me 6 more invites. Actually, anyone want one? I might give some away...and sell the other ones. Just let me know ASAP. Such is the life of Joe...
They're Legal!!!
WOO HOO!!! HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY TO MARY-KATE and ASHLEY OLSEN!!! Only 2 more to go!!! (Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff, that is). Lindsay's the next to turn legal!!!! Her birthday is on July 2nd...so only 19 more days!!! HOORAY!
I Love "Old" TV Shows
So a lot happened during this past weekend when I was out camping. I found out that J.Lo got married and I found out that President Reagan died. I was wondering on the way back from camping, why all the flags I saw were at half mast. Then someone told me that President Reagan died. Am I sad? Yeah, he was the first President that I remember, and thus the first President that I liked. When you're young you don't follow politics and you don't know the controversies...you just know that he's your President, the leader of your country, so you respect him. Yeah, all I remember was that he was a great President, but then again, my opinion is probably skewed since I was only a kid.
So tonight I browsed the 300's on my digital cable and was happy that I did so because of the cool shows that I caught on TV. There was "My So Called Life" (only the best show ever), "Animaniacs", "Pinky & the Brain", and "Daria". So it was great seeing all these old shows and reliving the memories you have of them. Freaking "Pinky and the Brain" is HILLARIOUS!!! I LOVE IT! So thank you to Noggin and Nick Toons for showing those shows. Good times.
So I watched the Laker game today at Fox Sports Grill. That place is pretty cool. It's the first time that I've been there. I kinda wanted to chill upstairs in the cigar smoking room but when I got there they had blocked the upstairs. Boo on that. Dude, freaking Fox Sports Grill was so freaking crowded...and I was amazed at all the Laker Haters there. I swear they were cheering like they won the Finals...dude, it's only game 3, chill out. Thanks to Danielle for hanging out with me and keeping me from being a loner. And sorry to Theda, we'll have a big bro lil sis outing another time.
Ok, time for the weekend...almost. Do nothing this weekend and be a lazy ass? Yes'm, I say yes'm. Such is the life of Joe...
I'm hungry...
4 more days until the weekend. Hopefully I'm doing nothing. Why? Well, just because I've been so busy these last couple weekends that I want to actually do nothing at all, but then again...if there is nothing to do...I'll probably complain that I'm freaking bored.
I'm tired because this past weekend was busy again. First was Kelly's going away shindig. Last chance to say goodbye to her before she moves to Hawaii. That was my first time going to Downtown Fullerton. It's pretty cool there because there are like 4 or 5 bars right next to each other and you can literraly go bar hopping there. I got home and saw Shawn and Rita in my room sleeping since they were here for the Camp Pendleton Mud Run and I didn't get to sleep until 2am.
3 hours later, I woke up to drive to Culver City so I can hitch a ride to go camping. Camping was a lot of fun. Riding bikes along the beach, playing UNO (dude that game takes forever), eating, relaxing, and later that night bringing out the Hookah, chilling around the campfire, and playing games with the penalty of taking a shot if you lose. Good times, good times. Pictures here
Ok, good times, this past weekend even though I'm still tired and sunburnt. Time for me to recover this week. Such is the life of Joe...
I Hate Cigars
Hooray! The weekend is over finally!
This weekend was so freaking tiring. Saturday, wedding...Sunday, grad party....Monday, bbq. Tiring but oh so fun.
The wedding was great. The church was really nice, the ceremony was great. Berto and Gerard did great on their readings! Seeing old friends and celebrating the union of Mish and Regi was the greatest. The reception was awesome, in the Four Seasons in Carlsbad...soooooo nice. And did anyone say OPEN BAR! There's rumors going around that I threw up that night...I don't know what they're talking about. Sure, I thought open bar was only for an hour and pounded a lot of drinks (mostly whisky on the rocks)and so did everyone else. All I can say is that HARMONY table was so rambuxious and the loudest table there. All of us were freaking drunk before and at the beginning of the reception...but i think I got started too early because I "supposedly" threw up...mmmm Filet Mignon down the toilet. It was great seeing old friends, seeing old friends drunk, and seeing how happy Mish and Regi were. You can tell that Mish was sooo happy because in the pictures you actually see her teeth! She's really smiling! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Buenviaje!!! Oh yeah...funny moment of the day: Sherwin asking Pat's date "hey you wanna play blue balls"!!! HA HA HA! Keep in mind that she has no idea that our softball team is called "blue balls"....picture a stranger coming up to you and asking you "you wanna play blue balls?" HA HA HA!
Larnie's graduation celebration was grandiose as well....the Boquieren's are like the perfect family. It was so great. So fun, seeing friends, and celebrating. Congratulations Larnie! Good luck in Arizona!!! On Monday I felt like doing nothing at all and wanted to rest from the long weekend, but I decided to go to Kel's going away BBQ and I'm so glad that I went. Good Luck Kelly in Hawaii!!! It was a great day...good food, good friends, seeing Kel before she leaves, smoking up the hookah, practicing my skills on the hacky sack, seeing Emi and Chiemi who I haven't seen in forever, watching the Lakers kick ass, and seeing the Abucejo's who I havne't seen in forever. Sgrand.
So thanks to all my friends who made it a great weekend. It was tiring but it was so worth it. Such is the life of Joe...
