Such is the life of Joe...
I'm SPIIIIIIIICY!
Haven't blogged in a while. Don't really have anything to blog about. I've been looking forward to this week, I can't wait until the weekend. Good times good times.
This past weekend was grand. I got to kick it with Theda for the first time in a while. Good thing, since she's starting USC this month and probably won't have any time to play. I'm such a great big bro. Also we got to go to Texas Loosey's and enjoy the "sights". We should go there more often...and sit at the bar...no reason, but sitting at the bar would be a good thing.
On Sunday was my neice, Makaylee's baptism down in SD. It was a grand time spending time with the family. I kicked ass on the Magic Mic, played some ping pong, and ate, and ate, and ate. I swear my neice is the cutest thing ever. During the baptism while all the other baby's were crying, she was calm and collected and in fact was "talking" to the other babies. SOOOOO CUTE! She's the cutest thing and has such a friendly personality. I love her so much...just don't ask me to hold her, I'm afraid I'll drop her.
And once again spending time with my cousin who lives down in SD and talking to some of the tita's, tito's and cousins and seeing what they're up to and their expression when they hear what I'm up to just makes me question what I wanna do in my life. I know they know I can do better, I know that they have higher expectations for me, I know I need to do better than what I'm doing right now...I know I can do better than what I'm doing right now...I know I can do whatever I want...too bad I'm lazy....but it's time to stop being lazy. Well, at least time to talk that way since I've talked like this on many occasions before.
This weekend looks to be hectic. Saturday will be good times dressing up and seeing friends. Sunday will be good times dressing up and seeing friends. Hopefully Monday brings dressing down and seeing friends...either that, or sleeping in. Yeah, sleeping in sounds good. So I'll see some of ya'll this weekend...otherwise, HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!! Such is the life of Joe...
Last Niiiiight...
Ok, finals weren't as bad as I thought they were gonna be. But everytime I think I do pretty well, I do worse than I thought. So therefore alway look at the half empty glass, then you won't get disappointed. Psych final wasn't that bad...but I still think I got a freaking B in that stupid class. Stupid attendance and participation points...can you believe it? Yes, I give you guys the right to laugh at me for getting a freaking "B" at a JC in an INTRO class.
Man, I really can't believe it's only 9 days and counting until someone's big day. It seems like it creeped up from no where. I can't wait though...it'll be a fun filled weekend.
You know what? I LOVE iTunes. It's a great I'm spending all of my free time trying to tag all my songs, and delete all the multiple copies of them, time consuming and it also freaking provided hours of distaction from studying.
Funny how you listen to a song for so long and you THINK you know the words...then you hear the acoustic version and realize how stupid you are. Case in point: the Weezer song "Pink Triangle" from their album Pinkerton (which I think probably ties 'the blue album' or might even edge it out as my favorite Weezer album"). I've always thought that the chorus goes "I DOUBT she's a lesbian, I thought I had found the one..." but then I listen to the acoustic version and realize it is "I'm DUMB, she's a lesbian..." HA HA HA! Makes sense either way though, right? Also...Tommy'll probably bring this up. That one Fat Joe and Ashanti song "What's Luv". I swore that it went "LAST NIGHT...got to do, got to do with it..." when in fact it's "What's Luuuuuv...got to do, got to do with it...". I should've known better seeing as the title of that song is "What's Luv". But listen to that song...and tell me that you don't hear "Last night..." now that I told you this.
I'm glad it's Friday tomorrow. I need time to crash and do absolutely nothing (how's that different than my other day again?). These next weeks are gonna be freaking busy. Such is the life of Joe...
The Inferno
I Love The Inferno!!! The Real World/Road Rules Challenge is awesome!!! So much drama! I think the Real World is gonna win. Throughout the show, I thought they were gonna lose since they were losing players like every week, but I think that actually was a good thing. They have less people to split the money with AND during the final mission there are 7 stunts and you can't advance to the next stunt until your whole team finishes. So of course Real World with 4 people are gonna be faster than Road Rules with 8 people. But here's an interesting thought, Katie on Road Rules hates her team (especially Veronica) so why doesn't the Real World Team offer Katie like $10,000 or even $5,000 to throw the final challenge!!! I mean, she hates her team, the team can't move on to the different stages until the whole team, including Katie, completes the previous stage, she'll get money if she takes bribe from Real World...it's a win win situation!!! AWESOME! Yeah, but I can't wait until the finale next Monday.
So currently I'm reading the Pullitzer Prize winning novel "The Adventures Of Kavalier and Klay" by Michael Chabon. It's awesome. If you're a comic book fan, I recommend reading it. It's basically about the creation of a fictional comic book hero called "The Escapist" set in during the Golden Age of comics. I'm only on like page 150 of 650, and they haven't created the character yet, but it's so good. Maybe because I'm such a comic book geek. But I heard that Dark Horse actually put out some Escapist comic books! Awesome! Yeah, but I highly recommend this to you fellow comic book geeks (cough cough Berto cough cough Jevon...)
I have finals this week. Wednesday and Thursday more specifically. I haven't even started studying for either of them. I'm such a freaking procrastinator. Wish me luck though...such is the life of Joe...
Age Of Bronze
I watched "Troy" and wasn't impressed. I think I was expecting a lot more. It just seemed that the characters weren't well developed, plus there wasn't enough boobage or violence. But it did pique my interest in maybe reading the Iliad, or reading "Age Of Bronze" comics by Image Comics, both of which are about the Trojan War.
So I woke up at 5:30am on Saturday to get to work at 6:00am, but when I got there everyone was standing outside. We were all locked out because our key cards werne't working. Oh well, that just meant I got to go home and fall back asleep and actually spend the day at the beach to say goodbye to Jhoette.
So I went to Corona Del Mar for Jhoette's going away beach day. Good weather, not too crowded, good times just chilling, playing football, swimming in the water, eating, roasting marshmallows in the bonfire, listening to the Laker's kick ass on the radio, and most especially kicking it with friends. After the biatch, we went back to myplace to watch some SNL with the Olsen Twins, and to smoke some hookah. The Olsen twins need to gain some weight, they're too skinny, plus they suck in the skits (it's all about Lindsey Lohan and Hillary Duff), but smoking that hookah was grand. Mmmmm...jasmine flavor. I'm glad I bought that hookah, good way to entertain people. My throat kinda hurts now though...I shouldn't smoke hookah 2 days in a row.
It was a great weekend, I think I need a weekend to rest for the weekend. But, It's back to the workweek. Hope everyone has a great week, such is the life of Joe...
To Larry
This weekend was just what I needed. I went back to Tulare and just relaxed and chilled the whole weekend. I got back home and did exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted to chill and smoke in my backyard at home...and that's what I did. It was awesome. I know in the past that I've said that I hated Tulare, but it was a much needed visit. Chilling out in the backyard, with a nice 72 degree night, stars shining down (yes, you can see stars), and only the occassional sound of a car driving by (not the constant sound of traffic I'm now used to). It was awesome. The backyard just seemed so peaceful.
So every time I go back to Tulare or hang out with friends from Tulare the conversation always turns to what our old classmates have been up to. I guess it's normal since that's the only common thing we have now. Yeah, I ran into an old friend at the outlets in Tulare and we just talked for a while. This persons married, this persons strung out on speed, this persons move here, this persons moved there, this person had 3 kids with 2 different people, blah blah blah...it seems like all the people that stay in Tulare are either junkies and messed up OR happily married with families.
Ok, she also told me about this one guy who is now a model or something? What the heck?! I looked him up on Friendster and he looks completely different. It's freaking crazy. Yeah, things change in 8 years. I know that I've said I would never go to my 10 year anniversary, but seeing my old friend kinda made me change my mind a little bit.
Dude, the houses in Tulare are so cheap...well, cheap compared to Irvine. Tulare is just expanding pretty fast we drove by the new neighborhoods and the new houses. For a 2000 sq ft house in Tulare you'd pay maybe $250,000 (I'm overestimating)...that's w/ a front and pack yard...and I mean a full yard. For a 2000 sq ft house in Irvine you'd pay $500,000 (I'm probably under-estimating) w/ no yards at all. I kinda wanna just buy a house up in Tulare just to buy one and rent one out. But then again, with houses so cheap...who would rent a house when they could buy one??? Here's a LINK to some of the houses in Tulare.
Ok, the end....hope everyone else had a great weekend. Sorry I missed the festivities on Saturday, but Happy Belated John John...you and my Dad have the same birthday. Farewell, to my Dad who left for the PI today. He brought his magic mic and said that whoever beats his score he'll give them a pair of shoes...he bought freaking 14 pairs of shoes to bring to the PI. Ok, that's it for now. I'm waiting for this weekend...even though I'm probably working on Saturday, dammit...Such is the life of Joe...
Good for you, good FOR you
HOORAY! I got $29.53 for my gmail account on eBay. Yeah, that's nowhere near the $60+ that they were going for 3 days ago...but I'm still happy. $25 (after fees) for something I got for free??? Awesome....although I am jealous of Mr. Rex since he got $33.32 for his gmail account. Congrats, man. Yeah, but if you guys wanna email me at my new account...it's gonna be the first initial of my name and my last name @gmail.com. so if my name was Kobe Bryant...it would be kbryant@gmail.com...but just replace Kobe Bryant with my real name, Brad Pitt. HA!
So Patron...everytime I tell someone let's take a shot of Patron they get all scared. "ohhhhhhh no...not Patron". I don't get it. Is it just because it's tequila? Because Patron is the smoothest tequila that I've ever taken. I will not and probably can not take Jose Cuervo, now that stuff is nasty and harsh. I bought May a Patron shot and she was scared of it until she took it...and was surprised at how smooth it was. Yes, Patron...the Freshmaker! Oh yeah...how come Patron is pronounced "pa-TRONE" when it's spelled just like patron which is pronounced "PAY-tron" (like patron saint). Yeah, random, I know...
Dammit! I know there was other things to freaking talk about! I just freaking forgot them! That paragraph about Patron has been in my head for a week now....and there's other things that's been up there for longer than that. Damn, I really need to buy a voice recorder. OH YEAH! NOW I REMEMBER!!! Why is it that during lunch I'm set to go and buy a salad, I get to the drive thru and I have "Mandarin Chicken Salad" on my mind but what comes out of my mouth is "a number 5, biggie/super/large size with a DIET coke". HA HA HA! Maybe that's why I'm fat....seriously....I'm fat...I think I could lose a good 20 pounds. Time to start eating better...now I'll just order a "number 5" without biggie/super/large sizing it.
Ok, so I'm going back home to Tulare this weekend. I can't wait! It's my Dad's birthday today so I wanna wish him a Happy Birthday, plus he's going to the Philippines on Monday for like 3-4 weeks or so and I wanna see him before he goes. Plus, I havne't been home in a while. So it'll be a nice weekend to just chill and smoke a cigar outside in the backyard. I might even bring my new hookah...but we'll see. Ok, talk to you guys on Monday...Such is the life of Joe...
I hate Filipinos
Thanks to Sherwin and Rex who told me to sell my gmail account on eBay. I looked up 'gmail' on eBay and accounts are going for freaking $60!!! Bring on the cash money! WOO HOO!!! Anyways...what's gmail? Check out more information HERE. Basically it's an email account being offered by Google, 1 GB of stoage...yes, that's like 250 times more storage space that other email accounts that only offer 4 MB. Plus ad free accounts. Awesome! So yeah, I think I'mma change my main email address to gmail. Just email me to get it...or gmail me. HA HA HA!!!
Ok, here's an interesting topic that stemmed from an AIM conversation with Ai. She said "I don't like Asian people anymore", "more like Filipinos", "they bother me". Which made me think....I wonder if other Filipino's look at us when we go out (yeah yeah yeah...when do YOU go out Joe???, BLAH!) and say the same thing? Not that I care...but it's a pretty interesting question, daw? I mean, sometimes I see Filipinos and they freaking annoy me because they're so freaking loud and act like they're "too cool for school". But I know when we're in big groups, we get pretty loud and rambunctious (sp?) so I wonder if people are like "damn Filipinos" to us. Oh well, I just wanted to put that out there for you guys to think about...just because Ai was too lazy to blog about it.
OK, that's it for now. I freaking had something good to talk about but I can't freaking think of it at all now! Dammit! Well, hopefully tomorrow in the mail, I'll get what I've been waiting for. What is it? Well, it sounds like "who? CUH!!!" Yeah, i can't wait to try it out...hopefully it won't be so hot outside tomorrow. Such is the life of Joe...
