White Elephant
So my strategy for White Elephant gifts is to buy something that YOU would actually like so you know there's something there that you'd actually like to own if there isn't anything else that's good out there. That's what I did when I got my gift for the gift exchange we had at John John's this past Friday. I bought a shower radio/cd player. And I got a really good present for my other White Elephant Gift Exchange...one that I really really want. Hmmmm....should I even put it out there for White Elephant or just buy a Best Buy gift card instead?
John John's for our gift echange/dinner was grandiose. It was a really good time had by all. Half the people were watching the Laker game while the other half was just chilling and talking. Very cool. Also a great gift exchange because I got an Atari joystick game thingie!!! Awesome! But I am sorry for stealing it from Ai...but I had to...no one was stealing anything and I knew if I didn't steal it then someone else would. Man, we freaking stayed out there until 3 in the morning just talking which was good times. Too bad I had to go into work three hours later at 6am!!! HA!
Michelle Branch was on the cover of this month's Maxim! Awesome!!! Oh yeah...and did I mention that "Las Vegas" on NBC is a great show?! Mmmm...Vanessa Marcil and Nikki Cox. (Ha Ha, I said "Cox").
Oh yeah...did you know I'm a great poker player when there's more than 2 people playing...but when it's just me against someone else, I freaking suck?! Yeah...just ask Jay. HA! Such is the life of Joe...
The SUPERmarket
My new favorite supermarket is Gelson's Super Market. That place is awesome. I went there a couple days ago since I needed to do some shopping and didn't want to go to the big 3 since they're still on strike (they're still on strike, right?). Gelson's (on Alton and Jeffrey in Irvine) is freaking awesome. It makes me feel like I'm rich or something....since all the stuff there is pretty expensive. HA! But for reals, it looks all frou frou and hoity toity and other weird rhyming words to describe "rich". Sberry nice.
Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King was good. It was different from the book, but it was still good. So we went to the midnight showing at freaking 8:30 and the line was almost around the freaking theaters!!! It was unorthodox!!! We waited in the freaking cold for like 2 hours before they let us in! Dammit!!! I think I got a little sick from it, but it was worth it. We got out around 3:30 in the morning and I was supposed to go to work around 6ish or 7ish. Hmmmm...I didn't get to work until freaking 11 o'clock!!! Good thing Dad called me.
Well, I haven't even started doing my Christmas shopping and I don't think I'm gonna have any time at all to do it since I'm working on Saturday. Sunday would be my only free day. Dammit. Well, Christmas isn't about the gifts right? At least that's what I'll tell the people I owe gifts to. Such is the life of Joe...
Back to dieting
Brooke Burke is once again on the cover of "Stuff" magazine. I was so happy that I was seriously about to cry. Too bad the pictorals aren't as great as her last spread. Oh well. But seeing her on the cover reminded me of a couple things that I want:
- Brooke Burke 2004 Calendar
- Brooke Burke "Gold Bikini" poster
So how much of a procrastintor am I? Well, my car's been having trouble starting for a while. I knew that it was the battery...but I kept on saying that I'll change it tomorrow, then tomorrow, then tomorrow. Yeah, while I was home at lunch today it finally died on me. I guess it was good timing since I actually had a good excuse not to go back to work. So I got it jumped by AAA since no one was around, drove to buy a new battery, and thought that it would start up again so I could install that battery at home. Nope. I freaking had to install it in the parking lot. I went back to the auto parts store where I bought my battery to borrow a wrench but they have a policy not to lend out tools. So they made me freaking buy a wrench!!! Dammit!!! Well, it should've been easy changing that battery, but stupid me spent an extra 20 minutes trying to get this one nut off....because I was turning it the wrong freaking way!!! Stupid me.
"Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King" comes out tonight at midnight, and I'll be there to watch it. Even though I have to be at work tomorrow at 6 am. Well, I don't HAVE to be there at 6am...but I should be there at 6am. Well, I'll hopefully it'll be a great movie. Tommy said it was freaking 3.5 hours long!!! What the hell!!!???? I hope not. Well, either way it's gonna kick some ass.
Ok, I'm back to trying to diet. Trying to eat healthier now. I'm not going on Atkin's again...well, not really. I'm just gonna cut back on carbs. I've been eating lunch and dinner and and have been walking away still hungry. I guess that's a good sign...I'm trying to cut down on my intake of food. Plus I'm gonna freaking start working out again. March cruise to Ensenada here I come!!!
So once I find enough time and once I find specs and stuff, I wanna try to make my own huge humidor. I think that'll be a cheaper way of getting a big humidor. That would be awesome. Anyone know if Home Depot sells Spanish Cedar and Mahoganny wood?
Long post? Yeah, because I don't know when I'm gonna post next. Busy Busy Busy at work. Such is the life of Joe...
Thandie Newton is Hot
Sorry...about the lack of updates but I've been really really busy at work this past week and a half. So busy that I've been working 12 hour days and coming in on Saturday. Blah. Ok, hopefully this will tide you guys over.
Have you noticed how many movies are being switched from their middle class suburban white kid setting to urban street african american settings. Some examples: Bring It On ---> Drumline, Fast And The Furious ---> Biker Boyz, The Nutty Professor ---> The Nutty Professor, Flashdance ---> Honey and finally the newest one: Can't Buy Me Love ---> Love Don't Cost A Thing (w/ Nick Cannon and Steve Harvey). I'm sure there's others, but I these are the ones that just popped into my head. It's not a bad thing, I just find it interesting. Actaully, it's pretty damn smart...if I was a screenwriter or something I'd try to adapt The Breakfast Club or some other classics and I'd make so much money. Too bad I'm not a screenwriter.
Ok, so if any of you guys are planning on getting me a christmas gift here's my wish list:
- This 1000 count humidor
- This Sony 61" Plasma TV
Ok, those are the only 2 things I really want. Isn't that humidor freaking awesome??? If 1000 of my friends just gave me $1 I could buy it. The problem is that I don't even have close to 1000 friends...hmmmm...i wonder what $20 will get me? .
Okay, that's it for today...hopefully next week won't be so freaking busy. Such is the life of Joe...
Tito Joe
Hooray!!! I'm a Tito now!!! My cousin Kathy had her baby daughter on Friday. I thought that they were gonna name her Michaela...but I guess that they named her "Mikaylee" or something pronounced McKayLee...I have no idea how to spell it. Yeah, but I can't wait to go down to SD and see my new niece. Hooray!!! I'm sooo happy and so excited. This kid is gonna be so freaking spoiled by her parents, her tito's and tita's and all her lolo's and lola's. Yes, and I admit I'm gonna be part of the spoilage!
Freaking working on a Saturday sucks. But at least I got to end that Saturday with a gift exchange with the Hawaii peeps. Lots of food, great company, and I got an awesome gift, a Padron Anniversarie Cigar AND a dope ass lighter!! AWESOME!!! Thanks TIN TIN!!! I can't wait to have others try out that lighter! It's awesome!
Also for the white elephant gift exchange I got the best gift in the world. A Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen calendar!!! HOORA....I mean, what in the world kinda gift is that??? BLAH!
While we were enjoying dinner on MTV was "The Diary of Jessica Alba". Mmmmmm...Jessica Alba. so great. Everyone agreed that she's the perfect guy's girl meaning she likes the beer, plays the sports, and has an awesome ass. Man, if only.... But did anyone watch her movie "Honey"??? I want to...but I think I'm gonna get annoyed with her talking in it because she talks so ghetto. Ghetto talk is a turn off....blah.
I also watched "The Debut" last night. A very entertaining movie. Yeah, that Joy Bisco is one cute lady. I'm trying to find out what all the girls that I find really attractive posses. Is it the ass? Is it the boobage? Yes, and yes...to an extent...but I think it's the eyes that draw me in. Brooke Burke, Kristen Kreuk, Jessica Alba, and even Joy Bisco...nice eyes. OK, the end for today. Such is the life of Joe
