Such is the life of Joe...
Damn Filipinos
So as I'm writing this...I'm in San Jose on Serena's computer waiting for freaking Shawn and Rita to arrive so we can eat. They were supposed to be here freaking 30 minutes ago...I'm starving!!! Damn Filipinos. Well, actually they just arrived. So now we can go eat...and then go to some "Mystery Spot" in Santa Cruz where gravity is all crazy and stuff....or so I hear. Well, that's my update for now. I'll talk to you laters. Such is the life of Joe...
Good Times (cont.)
What a great night last night was. (does that sentence make sense?) First was seeing freaking Britney Spears and Madonna kiss on the MTV VMA's. THAT WAS AWESOME!!! Then a fun filled night drinking the night away at D&B's at the Block for Viv's going away party. (Pictures are HERE or just scroll down to the previous post.)
Viv's party was a grandiose time. I got to see old friends, I met new friends, and I also got to place faces to people who read my blog and who's blog I've read on occassion. Now I have more blogs to read since I've met them (b/c for some reason strangers blogs don't hold my attention as much as friends blogs do).
Did I ever tell you how much I love my phone? So we were at the bar just chilling and I was surprised they didn't ahve the MTV VMA's on the TV's. So I took my handy dandy phone out and changed the channels on the TV (remember, I downloaded a program that turns my phone into a remote control). It was freaking awesome!!! Too damn bad that they only had 5 channels on that TV and they were all sports channels and none of them were MTV. DAMN YOU!!!
So once again drunk Joe came out and had a great time. I really wish I could be drunk Joe more often...without the drunk part that is. Like without the inhibitions I have as sober Joe. Yeah, that's my goal now. Or something. I think I'm just rambling.
Oh yeah, time for more rambling. The shopping plaza right next to my apartment (Trabuco Grove, I think). The one w/ Albertson's and Kohl's. Well, that place is sooooo freaking nice. They have the nicest La Salsa I have ever seen along with a Japanese/sushi restuarant and a Quiznos. But the thing that made me love this place was all the tables out in front of where the restuarants are. They are soooo nice. Not just metal chairs but nice wood tables, and nice cushioned "booths". Soooo nice. Only in Irvine...
It was a great night...but too bad it was because we were saying goodbye to Viv. But then again, Boston is only a plane ride away. Congratulations Viv, we'll miss you here in California as you're kicking ass over there in Boston. Such is the life of Joe...
It's Over Now...
HOORAY! I just got my humidor today. I was walking out to work and it was sitting out there in the front. Yeah, I was running late for work so I figured being another 15 minutes late won't hurt as I opened up the box and saw my new humidor that can store up to 150 cigars. Too bad I only have 5 right now...but I'll soon fix that! Man, it's soooo over...I'm gonna buy so many cigars it's not funny.
This weekend seems like it's gonna be a busy day for me. (I'm really not bragging, it just is). From Viv's going away party, to Jevon's birthday, to Reggie's birthday, to freaking driving up North to San Jose to celebrate Shawn, Serena, and Jedy's birthdays. I really DO wanna go up there to see everyone BUT I really am gonna hate the freaking drive. A 5 hour drive made so much longer by all the holiday traffic...and most likely I'm driving by myself. GREAT. Why can't you guys live closer????
Ok, so while everyone is talking about "The OC" and how great it is (I still haven't watched a whole episode...it just doesn't grab me) I've been watching a REALLY REALLY great show on the FX cable network. It's called Nip/Tuck and it is on on Tuesdays at 10 o'clock on FX. But this week they are running a marathon of all the episodes so far every night at 10 o'clock. It's a great show. It's about the lives of these 2 plastic surgeons. It is so freaking graphic (like showing the scalpel cutting into people and them cutting away flesh and stuff) but it is sooooooooo good. It really seems like a freaking HBO show on terms with "Six Feet Under" and they actually cuss in that show b/c I've heard the S-H-!-T word said a couple times! It's great!!! Make sure you watch it. You can thank me later. (Actually, I have to thank Danielle who recommended the show to me).
So I'm trying to update this thing freaking every day now for all my readers out there. Hope this satisfy's you guys. Such is the life of Joe...
So I went to work out for the first time in a month on Monday. I was kinda dreading weighing myself because I've been off Atkins for a month now...just eating whatever I want. So I figured that I had gained at least freaking 10 pounds or so. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised that I only gained 3 pounds! WOW! So to celebrate myself only gaining 3 pounds, I went to Albertsons and bought some cookies, ice cream, and also went to eat a Western Bacon Cheeseburger Combo from Carl's Jr. Ahhhh...I'm so healthy aren't I?
Good Charlotte and Simple Plan...did I ever tell you how much I hate those bands? Why do I hate them? I don't know...I think it's because they're too mainstream, yet claim that they're "punks" (especially Good CHarlotte). For all you hip hop heads out there...you can think of it this way. I hate Good Charlotte and Simple Plan and other bands like that for the same reasons that you hate Nelly, Juvenile, Big Tymers and them. I hope that explains it all.
Yeah...that's my random post for today. Maybe if you're lucky, you might get another post later on when I actually have something to say. Such is the life of joe...

Pitching Tents and Getting Wood
Dammit...the weekend is over. And what a weekend it was. What did I do? Nothing. No really...I did nothing. And it was grand. Actually, I went camping and then did nothing while camping. Awesome. I mean, what are you supposed to do when you camp? Just relax right? Well, that's what I did...and it was grand.
The best times I had during camping were basically doing nothing. The 1st night there just chilling around the fire with and watching the stars. Man, they were so bright and there were so many of them out there. You could also see Mars...but Jon saw Uranus. HA HA HA!!! The 2nd day there just chilling on the boat out in the middle of the lake sitting there with a beer in one hand, cigar in the other, just staring at nature and alone with my thoughts but at the same time surrounded by friends. And of course the 2nd night there just chilling around the fire w/ Cy, Tommy, and Cici...not saying a word...cigar in one hand, grand marnier in the other...just staring at the stars yet knowing that if I wanted to talk, that my friends were right there...lost in their own thoughts. I think we all wanted some "alone" time together there under the stars.
Quote of the weekend was: "Hillary Duff Is Probably A Whore" - Me, I mean....actually it was "Dammit!!! I swallowed!!!" by Cici followed by all the countless references to "pitching tents", and "getting wood". Ahhhh...and thus concludes my "bragging/random/routine" blog...Such is the life of Joe...

Biters
I love my new Nokia 3650 phone. It's soooooooooo good. I swear I use it more for other things than as a phone. I can take pictures with it, I can take videos with it, I can use it as a remote control (yes, that's right..a remote control), I connected it to my Outlook calendar on my computer and so it's a planner and reminder (of birthdays and stuff), I can upload games onto it (so far just pac man, arkanoid, video poker, and tetris), I can play mp3's on it (so far I only have 3 mp3's on it....I only have a 16MB MMC card in it...I need to upgrade to a 128MB MMC then I can have a lot more mp3's), I guess I could go on AIM and browse the internet (but I don't wanna pay for that). yeah, it's pretty cool. I like it...I like it a lot. I don't even really care if I get this phone for free or not (I'm still waiting for my 2 $150 rebates for this $300 phone).
There's a new influx of new blogs (well, only a handful are new...the other ones I've just discovered). All I can say is that you all are biters!!! And I mean that in the nicest way. I seriously love reading your random thoughts, your daily lives, and your crazy obsessions. I sometimes see a pattern in people's blogs and so I think bloggers can be broken down to a couple categories: - complainers: ummm...these are people that use their blogs to bitch about stuff (like, "My freaking knee still hurts"). nothing wrong with that at all. They can be very entertaining.
- routine: these are the people that tell us about every single thing they did that day and every day (I went to work, after work went out w/ so and so and him and her..., etc.) Very useful for people who want to stalk these people. (oh yeah, by the way...all i did today was work, and come home and blog)
- braggers: blogs where people just tell us about their new car, new toys (like cell phones), vacations in hawaii or other tropical places, wild times in vegas, great parties, good times in general, etc.
- randomness: they don't really have anything to say....they just talk about random stuff (like how random blogs are)
What was my point? I forgot already...but yeah...there you go.
Yeah, I guess I acted in haste to label Iya as having an obsession. Because once I read her friend's blog....I have to pass that torch to her friend. She has a blog and yes, all I can say is that it's pretty scary....and pretty damn funny too. Scary because it's stalkerish...funny because it's all in good fun. Yeah...that's it for now. But then I have to think...if Iya had a blog...I'm sure that she'd do the same thing. Hmmmmm......so I guess they both share the obsession crown.
Well, that is it for now. This complaining, routine, bragging, random blog is coming to a close. Until next time...such is the life of Joe...
But That's What We Do
So I can basically make fun of anyone not matter what, and get away with it, just as long as I say "but that's what we do". The story goes: Once upon a time, in a land full of pineapples and tropical beaches this group of friends arrive at the Dole Plantation to frolic around. I guess that Anna saw some lady wearing something that she shouldn't have been wearing (like silver high heels with jeans or something) and was telling everyone else and just commenting and making fun of her. Yeah, I know...that's what girls always do. I think they HAVE to do it...its in their blood. Anyways. I commented on that fact saying something like "you guys always have to make fun of people" and Anna just replies "but that's what we do". I then immediately pointed randomly to some girl and said "look at her, she's fat! HA HA HA!" all the girls shut up and just stared at me while freaking Tommy busted out laughing. I just said, "but that's what we do" make fun of people, right? HA HA HA! That's the end of the story. So now I can make any comment, belittle anyone, and just as long as I say "but that's what we do" it's alright...at least when I'm around the Hawaii crew.
Mark your calendars. Tuesday, September 16th...go out and buy the new Saves The Day album. Their new album is really a departure from the Saves The Day of old. It has a more poppier, more "Weezer-ish" sound to it. If you're a long time listener since their first album "Can't Slow Down" (I admit, I'm not a long time listener...I only started to listen to them in '99-'00) you'll swear it's a different band. Well, actually it IS a different band since the only original member is the lead singer Chris. Anyways...it's different, but it's still good. I'll probably still go out and buy it. Check out a couple songs here. You really can't go wrong if you sound more "Weezer-ish" anyways. Ok, that is all for now. Such is the life of Joe...
I love Mae
I love Mae so much. Mae is so different than what I've been looking for lately. Mae is a lot more softer and not as loud and harsh as some of the others that I've been into. I love when I hear you because you just make me feel so peaceful and happy. Mae, I'm really happy that I found you. Who is this Mae I keep on talking about? Well, here's Mae's website.
So my hits per day have gone from around 30-40 per day (my counter only adds a "hit" of an IP address every 12 hours, so if you keep refreshing your computer my "hits" won't go up...you'll have to wait 12 hours after you first logged on to register another "hit" on my page) to well over 6o hits a day now. This is attributed to the new blog by Ms. Cecile Tecson. Man, she's one popular girl. She's quickly become one of my top referrers. If you're curious to who my top referrers are:
1.) Tommy
2.) Aileen
3.) lil Jay
4.) Cici
5.) John John
6.) Edward which is weird since he no longer updates his blog
7.) Cecile soon to be #4 by Friday if she keeps up the pace
- congratulations to IP address "63.202.182.40" you are my 1000th visitor since July 6th, 2003 (like 2 months ago). Whoever you are, I'll buy you a drink next time I see you.
- my freaking knee still hurts...BLAH!
- someone already mentioned it in one of their blogs, but on the way back from Vegas I just wondered to myself "why aren't these truck drivers wearing trucker hats?"
- I bought a humidor on ebay yesterday here's what it looks like. Now I can buy boxes of cigars!!!! Addicted??? NO!!!
- Iya, that one cure song we heard at the Hustler store...it's called "In Between Days" by the Cure and yes you are OBSESSED with Ill Again. I think Calvin Klein has a perfume for you...it's called OBSESSION for women. HA!
- I apologize to Jon for making him want to change his website design. I know it's a long hard process...it freaking took me a week to come up with my final design.
You know what? That's pretty damn sad of me to freaking pretend I was talking about a girl up there. I just made myself depressed. I freaking need a girlfriend, any takers? no really....anyone? .... such is the life of Joe...
Torn ACL
That's what my freaking left knee feels like right now. Damn, it freaking hurts. I know I'm probably exagerating because I have no idea how that would feel like, but I bet you it's strained or something. I can walk alright, just as long as I don't bend my left leg at the knee. Actually, it doesn't really hurt if I bend it...it just hurts when I put my weight on it. So that freaking makes going up/down stairs a bitch. I'm extending my knee right now and I feel a popping/cracking sensation. I don't know how to explain it, but yeah...it's there. How did this happen? Well, lemme talk about my weekend first.
Friday I did what I was planning to do. I was planning on sitting on my ass and doing absolutely nothing. I was planning on cleaning my room up a bit and just chilling. Well, mission accomplished (actually, I just made my room messy again w/ all my clothes and crap from SD) and so by 10 o'clock at night I was freaking bored as hell. No one was online and I suspected people were having fun without me. Stupid me and being shy and timid about calling people and asking what they are doing because I'm afraid that I'll impose on their plans. So basically I sat at home bored off my ass doing nothing. BLAH.
Saturday was a busy day. Went to Huntington Beach with Lou, Belle, and Gail and went in the water to catch some waves. Freaking Lou and I were just laying on our boards waiting for waves to come in and then the freaking Baywatch/Lifeguard boat comes our way and tells us to get in the boat. WHAT IN THE WORLD? They said we were caught in a rip tide and we didn't even know it. I looked back to shore and it was pretty damn far out there. They just took us back closer to shore and we paddled back in (with a lot of effort on my part). Wow! My first rip tide! Awesome! Not only did it pull us out but it pulled us waayyyyyyyyyy to the right like 4 lifeguard towers down! Crazy! Good times at the beach. But I think it was at the beach when I messed up my knee. I was "frog kicking" in the water and I think my knee isn't used to that manuever and so that's why it's all messed up. Well, it was off for Olivia's surprise BDay party. YAY! SURPRISE!! Good times just chilling and seeing some people I haven't seen in a while. I took off early and made my way to SD to meet up with "The LA People". They ate dinner at Fillipi's in Little Italy, and then we went to Rock Bottom to drink and chill. Always good times kicking it with these people...from the "bucking bronco" story, to watching Riann and Joe dancing, to drinking/smoking/dancing, to random trips to the Hustler store, to having them witness what I go through every time Tommy and Cile are together, to French Braiding my hair, to finding out Iya is a stalker...the list goes on.
Today was beach day once again. Del Mar Beach this time. Damn, the waves were soooooooooo freaking nice. So much better than Huntington. Lou, you would've had so much fun there. Stupid me and my messed up knee didn't get a chance to boogey board. Damn you!!! Well, I'm always down for the beach...even if I am just wading in the water. After the beach was the Carlsbad Outlets. No, I didn't buy anything....but we were there. And now I'm back home to freaking begin a brand new work week. BLAH!!!
Ok, so Iya knows of this hip hop group named Ill Again. She's obsessed with them for some reason. I don't know why? She's so obsessed she even memorized this some lines and was embarrassed to read them out to us, line for line. HA! You all know what I'm talking about. Well, I had no idea why she was talking about them all the time and then she put in their CD. WoW! They're pretty damn good. It's just the type of hip hop I like, very jazz influenced, and no mention of bling bling. So check them out. Ok, that is it for now. Long blog? Yeah. Long weekend? Yeah. Gonna be a long week? I can just feel it.... Such is the life of Joe...
Finally, the weekend
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, finally the weekend is here. I seriously just wanna sleep this whole weekend. I just wanna be the laziest ass in the world. But I don't think that's gonna happen. Saturday I can go to the beach with Belle and Lou (or sleep), and then later that night go down to SD and either hit up the Gas Lamp District or Pacific Beach, I'm hoping it's the latter (or sleep), and then stay down there in SD for beach day on Sunday (or sleep). Hmmmm....I don't know. I have to freaking clean my room and put stuff away because I can barely see my carpet (there's shtuff all over the floor from Hawaii and Vegas). We'll see what I'm up for.
So in Hawaii I got to watch MTV's Making the Video with Hillary Duff for her song "So Yesterday". After watching that show I couldn't get that freaking song out of my head. This past Tuesday "The Lizzie McGuire" movie came out on DVD. I wanted to watch it in the theaters but didn't get a chance to, now I'm thinking of buying it. Hmmmmmm....I think I'll just wait. I'll just borrow the DVD and CD from Berto (come on! I know you have it, don't you?! HA!).
Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend. Hopefully mine will be great too....no matter what I end up doing. Such is the life of Joe....
Time For A Change
I've been wanting to change the format of my site for a while now. I've come up with 3 different designs and I settled on this one. I like it right now...but I'll probably be freaking tired of it in a week or so. Oh well...I think it's an improvement on the last design, right?
Okay, I did my Hawaii update (sort of) now I'll do my Vegas update:
Vegas was fun even though I lost $350 or $450 gambling (i lost count after a while) but I still had a lot of fun. My favorite quote of the weekend had to be "Joe, get me a bucket it's coming out both ways!!!" HA HA HA! I guess you had to be there. Yeah, but it was a lot of fun...too freaking hot though...117 degrees. No thank you. For a more detailed description just read what others said and look at picture I posted and Cici, Jon, and Jay posted (sorry...i'm way too lazy to link them all, but they're really easy to find). Well, until next time. WORD!!!! Such is the life of Joe....
Ma-HOLLA!!!
I guess it's time to blog about Hawaii, but I don't really wanna go day by day and tell you every single thing that I did. That would be boring and long. Hawaii was a much needed break and vacation. I've been planning and waiting for it for soooooooooo long. __________
   What did I do:
-hiked up Diamond Head (sooooooo hot, sooooooo tiring, but sooooooooo worth it...the view is grandiose)
-snorkling at Hanauma Bay
-luau at Paradise Cove (soooo much better than Germaines....b/c they had better looking girls)
-rented a board and tried to surf (tried is the operative word. I only got up maybe twice at the most. It's sooooooooooo tiring paddling out there, and
kinda hard when you're trying to catch the same wave as 15 other people and trying to dodge the other 30 in the water. I do now know why surfers wear rash guards because my chest/stomach was all rubbed raw...even my nipples had scabs on them)
-swap meet, dole plantation, Matsimoto's (there was a freaking long ass line...like a freaking half hour wait)
-Pali lookout
-Waikiki Beach, Sunset Beach, Sandy Beach
-meeting Tin Tin's Nana
-meeting Fantone's uncle, auntie, and little cousin
The one thing that we didn't do was go clubbing even though Zanzabar was right next door. We did go to Mai Tai Bar in Ala Moana Mall and that place was "poppin" but I wasn't ready to drink yet because of the huge ass dinner we had at Bubba Gumps. Sucks that after I smoked my cigar I was ready to get my drink on...but everyone else wanted to leave. I did go out by myself to Dukes and drink and smoked a cigar...does that seem like a loser??? I was thinking about going to Zanzabar by myself...but that would be way too loserish. Oh well...there's always next year.
Favorite thing I did in Hawaii??? Was probably nothing. No...I don't mean I don't have a favorite thing. I mean, being able to do nothing at all and just chilling at the beaches. Waikiki to people watch, Sandy Beach to find a quieter beach with less people, and Sunset Beach for the beautiful sunset. Ahhhhh....I'm already having withdrawals. Thanks Tommy, Cile, Anna, Fantone, Gwen, Leia, Isa, Fernie, Annie, Larnie, Drew, Tin Tin, and Jeff for the memories. And for you all out there...let me know who's going next...so I can tag along. Such is the life of Joe....
To do...
- Blog about Hawaii
- Blog about Vegas
- Blog about random thoughts
- Blog about how working sucks after spending a week and a half in Hawaii and Vegas
- Blog about my new phone
- FREAKING SLEEP...I'm freaking tired.
Such is the life of Joe...
Hawaii Pics
Here are SOME Hawaii Pictures up....I have like 100 more to post...for some reason it's taking a hella long time to freaking upload them. Check back later and hopefully by the time I go to vegas I'll have it all online. If you don't know the password just IM me....I'm tired now. Good night. Such is the life of Joe....
