Dude, I got a Dell!!!
Hell yeah! My new Dell Computer arrived today at lunch at work. I had it delivered to work since there wasn't anyone gonna be at home anyways. So I took my new computer and rushed to set it up in the 1 hour I had for lunch at home. Needless to say, I didn't really get to play with it at all. I just basically set it up. The end. But it seems really fast! I can't wait to go home and test its full capabilities.
Wow, its hot today. But its only in the mid 80's. 3 months from now in the middle of July we'll all be wishing it was in the mid-80's when we're trying to beat the triple digits. I don't really mind this hot weather at all if I was swimming or if I was at the beach or something. But it kinda bugs when you're at work and you get in your hot ass car at lunch time to drive home. Oh well.
A cool site to go on if you do any shopping online is: Coupon Coupon. They have a lot of online coupon codes that'll save you some money when you buy online. So remember, check them out whenever you buy something online.
I just saw a movie trailer for some new movie on MTV. It caught my eye because it has Asian stars and I think centers around a group of Asian friends, and also because it's a smaller indy film...and I like those kinda films. Check out Better Luck Tomorrow.
That's it for now....I'll talk to you after my new computer is all set up. Such is the life of Joe...

I Love The Biatch
It was a very busy and fun weekend. I really hope that this weekened is gonna be a reflection of all the weekends to come since it is Springtime and the weather is good. So this weekend was a very fun and active weekend. I'm glad that I wasn't stuck indoors as usual watching "Trading Spaces" and "While You Were Out" since this weekend was so beautiful outside.

  • Friday: went to Kelly's birthday at Yardhouse which was really cool just kicking it and drinking with friends, what more can you ask for? Maybe for them to turn down the music a little, since the blasting music is not conducive to conversation but it was still good times. I actually posted pictures of it on the pictures page. IM me or ask me for the password!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!!!
  • Saturday: went to the Blueballs first annual reunion at San Marco park. It was an awesome day because it was sunny and warm and it was definitely a day to be outside...perfect for softball, except for the wind. Us oldies just chilled, ate, kicked it and actually played a couple games of softball. But you could tell that we were the "alumni" team since everyone was dead tired and aching for the "ben-gay" and "icy hot" by the end of the day. Good times though. It was really good seeing people that I haven't really kicked it with in a while. After going home, taking a shower, and taking a long ass nap, I started to cook some of my "Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo" for dinner that I made yesterday (I had to cook more shrimp and warm up more sauce for all the noodles that I made yesterday) and was ready to eat but decided to not be such a lazy ass and actually do something for a change at night. So I called up Jevon and asked him what time Ai and Jon were meeting up at his house to go to Dori's thing at Sangria's in Hermosa Beach, he said to be there by 9:00!!! DAMMIT!! I stopped eating, changed and hopped in the car to try to make it to Jevon's in like 45 minutes. But I found out later on that I really didn't have to rush at all since we weren't getting into Sangria anyways. After trying to find parking for 30 minutes, after walking half a mile to Sangria's, after seeing the line of 100 people outside, after finding out that there is a parking structure right next to Sangria's, and after seeing the line not move for 30 mintues we decided to call it a night. Headed over to Cicely's and just chilled there with lil Jay and Ai's brother Averell and ate at Johnnie's some sandwhich place famous for pastrami (too bad I can't have any pastrami, because pastrami = red meat). Good times just chilling and talking.
  • Sunday: Sunday was a grandiose and beautiful day in the mid to high 80's. Perfect beach weather! So after church I met Ai, Jon, Averell, Chris, and lil Jay at the beach. Yup! you got it! The second Sunday in a row that I was at the beach! Hopefully this'll be a weekly thing now! I'm down if it is!!! Yeah, the water was a little cold but so what, I'm at the beach...I love the beach. Just chilling on the beach, and just chilling in the water trying to catch some waves to body surf, even though I had my body board with me.

So a couple things to keep in mind if you ever go to a club or bar in a city that ends with "Beach" (i.e. Hermosa Beach, Pacific Beach, etc.):

  • DO try driving around to find a parking structure, most likely there'll be one
  • DO wear jeans (jeans = dressing up at a "beach club")
  • DO get there early like around dinner time to avoid standing in long ass lines
  • DO NOT wait in line for longer than 30 minutes
  • DO try to cut in line with friends if the line is hella long

And finally a tip for all you who go to the beach:

  • DO NOT freaking set up a huge canopy in front of other people on the beach, thus blocking their view of the ocean.

March Of Death
Zack de la Rocha and DJ Shadow, together....doing a song. I thought I was gonna have to wait until Zack's solo album before I heard anything from these guys but you know that Zack couldn't keep quiet during this so called "Operation Iraqui Freedom" corporate takeover that's going on now for the benfit of the Bush's and Cheney's in the world. Well, check out their new song called "March of Death". I hope this is an indication of what Zack's solo album is gonna sound like (DJ Shadow is producing it), man I miss his voice.

Hiya
Wassup my dudes. How's it all going? Well, I've been meaning to blog for a while but the DSL at work was cut off for a little bit while we moved to a different lab, but guess what? Now it's back up again! Hooray!!! So this past weekend was cool, because I actually got to go to the beach for the first time this year! I was just chilling on the beach with Jon, Ai, and Jevon and the day was spent just laying on the sand and talking (because the water was kinda cold and I was trying to get over being sick). Good times...we then went to dinner later on with James, Shawn, Rita, Cile, Tommy, Jon, Ai, and Jevon at Taiko's and mmmm...that was good.
So I called in sick on Monday thinking that I really didn't want to go to work. I also called in sick because I thought that since I went home early on Friday that they would actually believe that I was still sick. But I think I chose the wrong day to call in sick because it looked like it was freaking gonna rain on Monday. Dammit!!! I didn't do a damn thing that day, so it was a waste of a sick day. Blah. And guess what happens when I get back to work? Its freaking 80 degrees outside and perfect to go swimming or the beach....blah!!! And when I get back to work we are in the process of moving to another lab down the hall and since I'm a guy I have to do all the heavy lifting. BLAH! I think I got more of a work out at work than when I went to the gym afterwards. Blah.
And just when I was starting to support the government on this war they go and give a government contract to rebuild the Iraqui Oil Fields to Halliburton. Why is that bad? Well, freaking Dick Cheney, the freaking vice-president was once the freaking CEO of Halliburton!!! HELLO!!! How obvious can this be??? Send in the troops to Iraq not so we can take out Saddam, but so we can take its oil fields and the Bushes and Cheney's can make billions. Good plan....blah....I"m just rambling right now because I wanna put something down on this blog but I wanna leave work right now. So such is the life of Joe...

Yes please
Jessica Alba is freaking hot!!! The end.

Me, tik...cough cough
&nbps Yeah, I'm sick....and being sick sucks. But I'm not congested and I don't have a cough or anything. My head just is freaking killing me and so is my body....all I wanna do is sleep. I think I might have a fever too since I'm hot one moment and then freezing the next. And now I'm getting it from Tommy because I made fun of him when he was sick and now he's making fun of me. Greeeat. It freaking sucks because its such a nice day today...such a nice day to go swimming!!! But every freaking time it's perfect to go swimming, I'm doing something else like being sick. DAMMIT!!! It also kinda sucks too because Shawn and Rita and Ana and Nicole are down and so we're probably gonna do something tonight. But I don't know if I'm up for it, I'm gonna sleep all day to hopefully get better.
Hooray! I bought a new computer!!! Hell yeah!!! I ordered a new Dell 4550 system pentium 4, 2.66 Mhz, 256MB RAM, 60 GB hard drive....yeah there is no cd-r/dvd drive and no speakers and no monitor, but I can get those cheaper somewhere else. So thanks Ben's Bargains for getting me that for only $533 after rebate (I hope that's a good price). Well, that's it for now as I go cook some soup and sleep watching the NCAA's, "Weird Science", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and NO war coverage...such is the life of Joe...

Whatever...
I guess some people take things too seriously. So I guess my last post upset some people....but the thing is..I said "some of my friends need to update their blogs more routinely" some not all. Why is it that all the people that responded to my last post are the most frequent bloggers and the people that I wasn't talking about??? So like the song from Liam Lynch..."whatever"
Taking a page from Cici's blog, I have my own simple pleasure: Having your own room especially when it is the Master Bedroom. Why is that? Well, yesterday as I was watching a good episode of "Angel" I got the sudden call from mother nature to "drop the kids off at the pool". Damn, I would normally have to miss the rest of the show but since I have the Master Bedroom all to myself, I just closed the door to the bedroom and moved my TV to the bathroom door (which is really easy because my TV is normally right next to my bathroom door, all I had to do was turn is around and move it to the side) and sat there doing "my business" but still watching TV. That is one of the greatest things in the world. Some people say smoking while taking a dump is awesome, but since I don't smoke I'll have to say watching TV while taking a dump is awesome. I'm seriously gonna have a TV in my bathroom when I own a house.
This freaking war is boring. I liked the last war when there was footage of late night Baghdad and all these anti-aircraft missles being fired into the sky. I liked watching the laser guided missles hone into their target. But this war is stupid...if you're gonna cover the war and not show my favorite shows, you should make it entertaining. And before you say that I'm a terrible person...I am against the war. But since it's started, might as well get Saddam out of the way...or else it'll be a waste of time. And yes, my little "war as entertainment" thing is sarcasm (well....kinda) showing how stupid war is these days. At least my NCAA's March Madness isn't postponed. HELL YEAH! Such is the life of Joe....

Mind ya bidness..just, just mind ya bidness
Well, being the extremely bored person that I am, I turn to the internet for entertainment as many of you usually do. I do my usual email check (my real account and then clean up my junkmail account), I then go check out myfamily.com to see what's new if anything, go to eBay if I'm bidding on anything, and go to Ben's Bargains to see if there are any good deals (which there usually are, I highly recommend going there daily), then pick out my new VGM team on NBA.com. Then goes my daily routine of going through the many blogs of my friends. But the thing is that this still isn't enough to entertain me...some of my friends need to update their blogs more routinely and the ones that are updated frequently are usually too short. [Actually they're all too short for me, since I have nothing better to do than constantly look at my friends blogs since I'm bored as hell at work and at home...maybe I should get a life. (anyways the main point of this sentence was to seque to how I read strangers blogs, and how they aren't as fulfilling as my friends)] So now I've come to the point of going to random blogs to see what friends of friends of friends and strangers are doing.
But the thing is, that when I do go to the random blog site or click on a site of a friend's friend it doesn't interest me as much as reading my friends sites. Yeah, that's probably obvious since I don't really care what happened to them since I dont' know them. That's why I like reading my friends blogs/websites. I know them and because i know them (I hope this doesn't seem strange to you) when I'm reading my friends' blogs I can "hear" them talking. I can hear the sarcasm, or the tone of voice, or the laugh of the person writing. No No No...I dont' hear voices...but when I'm reading their blogs its like they are telling me the story instead of me reading it. You know...like in the movies or TV when "Person A" reads a letter from "Person B" and at first you hear "Person A's" voice but then it changes to "Person B's" voice? Yeah, that's what it's like. Weird? I hope not. And this is why stranger's blogs don't interest me at all. With strangers blogs, I am just reading, I don't get a picture in my head of them reading it aloud to me, and I don't get their sarcasm or humor at all...obviously since I don't know them. The moral of the story???? People need to update their blogs at least on a twice a week schedule...and I need more friend's blogs to read. Now, I'm just rambling....such is the life of Joe.

Speaking of steak....
Mmmmm...steak. Too bad that I gave up red meat for Lent. Actually, I'm trying to not eat any poultry either but its just too hard just eating seafood or salads and stuff. I love seafood though, mmmmmmm....seafood. For the past week or so I've had cravings for seafood and I got my wish on Saturday when I went to the Crab Pot in Long Beach for Edwin's birthday. If you've never been to Crab Pot they just dump all this seafood on the table in front of you and you just start eating. Mmmmm...delicious!!! Crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams. If you ever go there make sure you order a Blue Sapphire Martini...its deee-licious!!!! HA! Yeah, I'm being sarcastic. Its freaking straight Blue Sapphire Gin, I now know that I dont' like Gin. I think Iya had more of that drink than I did...actually I'm sure of it. Anyways...this seafood craving is pretty bad because seafood is so expensive and it takes too long too prepare if I'm gonna cook it myself. And I'm not talking about a craving for Fillet of Fishes or Fish and Chips...I'm talking about fresh salmon, shrimp, crab and stuff. Mmmmm...my mouth is just watering just thinking about it.
So this war thing...I really hope that we don't go to war. Why? Because then they're gonna postpone March Madness if we do! NOOOO!!! Oh and because war is bad. War also means everyone is gonna be paranoid about terrorist attacks...and that will include me. I'm going to Hawaii at the end of July and I really just wanna worry if I bought enough wifebeaters instead of worrying about my safety and about flying. (did that make sense?) Yeah, I agree that Saddam should be ousted but I think that this could've been taken care of freaking 10 years ago? There WAS this thing called the Perisan Gulf War...we WERE kicking ass...it would've been so easy to freaking just take Saddam out then and there. But then again...hindsight is always 20/20.
  • AFI's newest album "Sing The Sorrow" kicks ass
  • The TV show "Alias" kicks ass
  • Should I cut my hair?
  • I hate 50 Cent (I can't stand "In Da Club")

I'm The Best Big Bro In The Wolrd
Yes, that's right...just ask Theda. She'll tell you I'm never forgetful and never flake on people...especially never on her! HA! Yeah, I did it again according to Theda. I guess I "dissed" her once again. But I'm not quite so sure this is totally my fault Actually, I don't think the other time was my fault either. For those of you who don't know, 3 weeks or so ago was Tinz's birthday party at 3rd Street. And it was a grand time. But apparently I forgot that I was supposed to wait for Theda to meet up so she wouldn't have to go all the way to LA all by herself. Was that my fault? I offerred to wait at John John's house for her to drive up and we could all go from there. Actually, I don't remember her ever saying that she was going to go with us anyways. Yeah, true she tried to call my cell phone...but my cell phone doesn't get reception at my apartment and I only got her message and phone call when we were halfway there. Well, sorry...I'll never do that again....
Except apparently I did do it again! HA HA HA! I'm funny!!! Last night was a party for some Polynesian Dance Troupe that Theda's cousin is in (and Jevon's sister, Joyce). She called me up and truthfully, I didn't feel like going at all because I'm still super duper tired from the Vegas weekend. But I told her that I would go if she went, because she needed someone to go with. The thing is that she didn't know if she wanted to go either!!! So I told her to call me after she's out of class at 9:30. Well...you probably know how this is going to end up. 9:30 comes and no call so I figure she isn't go. But just to make sure, at 10:15 I call her to see what's up. Apparently she called me at 9:30 but once again...my cell phone gets no reception at the apartment. Is that my fault again? I don't think so. I specifically changed my voicemail message to say something like "I'm not here...leave a message or call me at home at 555-5555" (with the 5's replaced by my real phone number). I don't think that's my fault...my home phone number is on my voicemail!!! But she puts the blame on me...even though it really isn't my fault, right??? Such is the life of Joe....

What Happens In Vegas....Stays in....my blog for everyone to read (part2)
First off, there are freaking ants crawling into my freaking cereal box!!! Dammit!!! I just opened that box yesterday!!! Did I throw the box out? No sir, I just poured me a bowl, added the water, and ate that cereal...ants and all. Mmmmm....delicious!
Now is time for part 2 of my weekend in Vegas. Yeah, I wanted to split this up because there was too much to talk about and wanted other people to write about it first to cover the main things about the trip. "It was cool just kicking it with friends" yes, that is what I always say when I hang with friends. But I mean this even more when it's in Vegas! You can't beat kicking it with friends and gambling and drinking. That's the best. When's the next Vegas outing???
This Vegas trip was one of the best ever because I started off winning!!! I sat down at the roulette table and playing the minimum $10 (10 $1 numbers) I was quickly up like $100!!! Damn! I should've bet more than a dollar a number!!! I came off the table up $60...not bad for 30 or so minutes! Next it was buffet time with Mike, Joanna, Trish, Dean, Lou, Belle, Tinz, and Sherwin and the Aladdin Buffet is bomb ass..even if you gave up meat for Lent! Mmmm...salmon, clams, oysters, crab legs, and shrimp.
We were there too early at the Monte Carlo Brewery because there was some blah band up on stage and so Ed, Ryan, and I went to gamble. Hell yeah! Another quick $100 in winnings for Joe!!! Damn! I should start betting more than $1!!! When we got back to the Brewery it was "poppin" and everyone was there...including Cicely and Jon!!! Jeff being faded and taking hella pictures as usual so we all can look at them and remember the great times. Drinks and drinks and just chilling...good times. And Tinz was fiznaded!!! That was cool! I went back out to gamble once again and decided to play $5 per number for 10 numbers each roll of the roulette table. And after losing $200 I realized that wasn't such a great idea. Oh well, so I lost $40 for the whole trip...that's nothing at all.
So while everyone else went to eat at The Orleans...Cicely, Chris, Jon, Jevon, Jay and I went out to Cheetah's. It's a "dance" club...yeah, that's it! Dance club. And let me tell you one thing....one of the coolest things is watching your friend get a dance...why you might ask? because Its cool when that friend is a girl! Yay!!! Cicely's cool! But if you are watching a friend get a dance, hold off on getting one yourself, it'll just distract you. Trust me. We step out of the door of Cheetah's and there's the sun shining. THE SUN! Yes, we went in there at 4am in the middle of the night and left around 6am with the sun shining. AWESOME!!!
So you would think we would go to sleep, huh? NO! We were having too much fun. We went to breakfast at Imperial Palace, then chilled at Jay and Chris' room at Imperial Palace. And we were just talking about random stuff, I can't really remember it all because I was so freaking tired but there were conversations about Tom and Jerry, Mr. Rogers, Chris thinking we're geeks, our IM habits, Heathcliff and that other cartoon w/ the 3 cats in the junkyard, "are you going to California?" Jevon's rantings, and Supercuts. HA! Supercuts!!! I get it now!!! That's freaking hilarious. So after sleeping maybe 15 minutes at the most we head out to meet up with everyone at Aladdin. Big shout out goes to Ryan for collecting all my stuff for me. Thanks man! From Aladdin to California to eat, California to being stuck in traffic which bring us back to part 1 of my story.
I think apart from Cicely getting a lap dance, I'd have to say just kicking it with Chris, Cicely, Jevon, Jay, and Jon was the best part of the night...it was a more intimate setting and we were just talking. I felt like I got to know these guys a lot better and we became better friends because of the time kicking it together. If that was all that we did that night it would've still been a great night.
Check out Cicely's, Jay's, Jevon's, and Jon's blogs for their point of view of THE ADVENTURES OF THE JC CREW!!!. On the next THE ADVENTURES OF THE JC CREW....i don't know??? But hopefully there will be a next time. Such is the life of Joe...

I Miss You
So today, 11 years ago my Mom passed away. 11 years ago today, Dad walked into Mr. Scherr's classroom and I immediately knew what had happened. It's weird because I usually start having dreams about Mom a week or so around this time and her birthday. I never dream at all except around this time. They are always dreams about Mom still being alive and I always start to cry at the end of the dream because I realize it is only a dream...
But this year I didn't have those dreams. I'd like to think that it is because I think I've finally come to terms with her death. During the first part of December I was really really really depressed to the point of just crying out of nowhere and constantly thought about her and how much better my life would've been if she were still alive. But I really came to accept her death back then and so I'd like to think that is a reason why I don't have those dreams anymore. But the sad thing is....I actually liked those dreams. Sure they always were sad, but I was SOOOOOO happy in the dream.
I love you Mom and I miss you sooo much...such is the life of Joe

What Happens In Vegas....Stays in my blog for everyone to read (part 1)
As I'm writing this I'm watching "Clerks" the animated series. HELL YEAH! This show is hilarrious...too bad they are all reruns from the short lived series on ABC. Check it out on Comedy Central at 12:30 AM.
So I just got back from a 9 hour trek back from Vegas. Why did it take freaking 9 hours you might ask? Its because some tour bus got in an accident and flipped over on Interstate 15 injuring 100 people...some of them seriously. But more importantly, this accident doubled the travel time for our ride back home. DAMMIT!!! We were on the S-15 moving along at freaking 2 miles per hour and then we freaking stopped...we heard on the radio that freaking S-15 was gonna be closed until midnight! MIDNIGHT!!! Well, basically we just sat there, turned off our car and just galavanted around the freeway with the thousands of other stuck commuters. It would've been cool if we were stuck next to a van full of bikini supermodels, but that wasn't the case. Actually, it would've been cool if all three carloads of friends were stuck in the same place, but we were left behind. Long story short...I just got back to Irvine at 11:30....9 hours after we left at around 2:30. BLAH!
This wasn't the great end of a great weekend that I was hoping for. But this weekend was awesome and ranks among my top Vegas trips of all time no matter what the ending was. Drinking, Gambling and winning!, kicking it with good friends, Monte Carlo Pub, the "afterparty" fun, only 15 minutes of sleep, and more...that'll soon follow in part 2 in the coming days. Such is the life of Joe...

TGIF
I love Fridays, its my favorite day of the week. I look forward to Friday starting on Sunday...that's how much I love Fridays. Friday means the weekend which usually means rest and relaxation...except this weekend. This weekend is VEGAS BABY, VEGAS!!! Vegas for Jeff's birthday and its going to be crazy. Last time there were 20 people crammed into one room...for some reason, I think more people are going this time. YIKES! JINKIES!!! But its a much needed change of pace for me. I gotta test out my new roulette technique...hopefully I'll come back with more money than I left with.
So I'm looking at all the people that have visited my site and here are my top referrers:
John John, Jon, Tommy, Cicely, "Three10.com" and finally Sherwin...thank you guys for all the traffic directed my way from your respective sites. Random? Yeah, I know...this was random.
And on a final note..."SHUT UP!!! YOU WANT A TIP??? HERE'S A TIP! CALM DOWN!!!"...Such is the life of Joe...

Shibby
So Lent is starting on Wednesday. What am I giving up? I'm giving up red meat....no, not just on Friday but througout the full 40 days (is it 40 days?). So this basically means, sushi, salmon, tuna, and chicken for me. It shouldn't be too bad...plus hopefully I'll lose some weight for the summer. I'm hoping to get down to 155 pounds....6 pounds isn't that hard to lose, is it? Funny thing about my weight though....I've been working out on and off for like 3 years or so and I've actually GAINED weight!!! What in the world? Granted, I just lift weights and do no cardio at all...but shouldn't I lose a little weight? I try and do Cario, but its so damn tiring. I wish cardio would be easy then I'd do it every day. I know I should start running and stuff since I've basically lived off of fast food for lunch and dinner since my Freshman year of high school. I know I probably have freaking clogged arteries and high cholesterol and stuff that's why I can't wait for it to be hotter so I can swim...I love swimming.
So the 24 Hour Fitness Sport that I work out has a freaking Burger King in the same freaking parking lot. DAMMIT!!! Its so freaking easy to go to the drive thru and say "I'll have a number 4 please". There goes my freaking workout. I need some freaking self control and stuff. Maybe I'll give up fast food too....or "fast food from a drive thru". So I'm freaking running and it takes me like 10 minutes to do 1 mile!!! I can freaking walk that! I got so freaking tired 2 minutes into it. I swear that doing cardio at a gym is not for me. I need some motivation. I'm trying to freaking lose my gut before the summer...oh yeah, and I'm trying to prevent a heart attack or something.
