Such is the life of Joe...
It's Nooooo Fun, Noooo Fun, being bored as helllllllll
I did absolutely nothing on Friday and that was perfectly fine with me!!! All I did was watch TV the whole freaking day! Ok, so answer me this I have a friend...yeah, that it! a friend who just likes watching a couple Disney Channel shows, namely "Lizzie McGuire" and "Even Stevens". But my ummm..friend, is like 24! Isn't that weird? Isn't that channel for people not yet in high school? Aren't those shows for people not yet in high school?
The thing about Thanksgiving is all the leftovers my Tita always give my brother and me since she knows we rarely cook. But the thing is, I really don't like leftovers. Especially after a couple days. Sure, I can eat the leftover ham, turkey, shrimp, pancit, pancit palabok, and encimada but after seeing that food all cold and in ziplock bags, it kinda makes you lose your appetite. And it also sucks when you try eating it for lunch and dinner for the next 3 or 4 days. So usually most of the food just stays in the fridge for like 3 or 4 months and develops this nice coating of green furry mold before we throw it out.
So I was talking to "girlfriend" today and she said something that was pretty funny and that I've never really thought about in my life. She said that she went to her fiance's house for Thanksgiving and she said it was weird because she never went to a "White" people Thanksgiving! Meaning that they all sat down around the table and passed the turkey, gravy, potatoes, etc. around. HA HA HA!!! She said that they actually use the dinner table to sit and eat at while we [Filipinos] use the dinner table just to put the food on and everyone just walks around getting their food and just chilling in front of the TV or other table. HA! That's freaking hillarious! I never thought about how "White" people celebrate Thanksgiving and how Filipinos celebrate Thanksgving. I'm not saying that this is "right" or this is "wrong" it's all about giving Thanks in your own way and getting together with family and friends. But every Filipino Thanksgiving that I've been to and this is the only Thanksgiving that I know, is the Thanksgiving where its physically impossible for everyone to sit around the dinner table because you have all the Titos, Titas, and cousins running around. I don't know...I just found it funny.
So yesterday before watching "8 Crazy Nights" they has their requisite previews. And I just noticed how a lot of the new films are just basically old movie plots put in different scenarios and/or ethnic groups. So I saw this preview for "Drumline" which I think is "Bring It On" but change the ethnicity to Black people and change it from cheerleading to band. This other movie called something like "Biker Boyz" is just "The Fast And The Furious" but with street bikes instead and also change the ethnicity to Black people. I guess Hollywood just tries to cash in on ideas that worked in the past which kinda sucks. Try and find original ideas please!
Ok, so anyone know who Harvey is? I'm getting scared now. I never wanted my page to go beyond my friends and people that I know. But I have no idea who Harvey is. I mean, it's all good because you have to know someone that I know in order to get to this page so I guess its cool, but still, I don't personally know this person which kinda worries me. Oh well...maybe I'm just being paranoid. Such is the life of Joe...
Christmas Season Has Begun!!!
I love the Christmas season! I love everything about it, the music, the decorations, the smells, the sounds, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer claymation cartoons on tv, the weather! BUT I HATE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!! I can't stand all the freaking people in the mall making a mess of everything, of standing in long ass lines waiting for the only cashier open, fighting over other people for the last thing-a-ma-doo, and not knowing what to get for presents. Besides, I tend to shop more for myself than for other people, yeah, I know that sounds bad. So speaking of Christmas shopping, did I get up early in the morning and stand in line to get the incredible deals today? HELL NO!!! That's just freaking crazy!
Thanksgiving was good because all we did was eat the whole day and later in the night I watched "Eight Crazy Nights" which was just alright. I would say to wait for it on video. Just chilling and hanging out with the family was fun. And I actually didn't get hassled by the relatives about what I'm doing with my life, where am I headed in my career, and all that fun stuff that everyone loves during the holidays.
Random Musings
- Brooke Burke is the hottest women alive in the world today! I just watched part of her "Barely Brooke" show on E! Television. Mmmmmmm....hmmmmmm. YES PLEASE! Dunno, there's just something about her. I think its in the eyes, oh yeah...and her very nice body doesn't hurt at all. Yeah, I know she's married to a plastic surgeon and she's probably had a lot of stuff done to her (come on! she looked awesome right after she had her 2nd kid!). Ok, if someone was to buy me the new Brooke Burke 2003 Calendar, that would be grand!
- I'm freaking bored, I"m back in Irvine and there is nothing to do except go out shopping and I really don't wanna go out and shop.
- Anyone know where my "Rancid - Let's Go" CD is at???? Did I already ask this or am I just imagining things??? Just wondering because its a really good CD. Oh well.
Ok, that's it for now...can't think of anything else to talk about. Such is the life of Joe.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Its for real now! Thanksgiving is here!!! Hooray!!! I love it so much because you don't have to go to work today or tomorrow! It's the best holiday in the world!!! Can't you tell I freaking hate my job?! But seriously, I need this time off of work. It's just been stressing me out lately. But Thansgiving isn't just about not going to work, its also about spending time with the family, eating lots of food, and just chilling. I love it. Every year for Thanksgiving we dont' go back to Tulare because its way too far to go there. Instead, we got to Tita's house in Palos Verdes and have a big lunch/dinner. Actually, its continuous eating at her house. We'll probably start around 2 o'clock...but that's just the first round...I'll be coming back to the table probably every hour until we leave. Mmmmm..foood. I wish I had a scale so I could weigh myself before eating and then afterwards to see how much food I ate. Have you ever weighed yourself before you take a dump just to see how much you you dumped out? I know you have!!!! Or at least I know you've wanted to try that!!! Admit it!!!
Stuff that I've been getting into: - Everwood on the WB.
- "Gimmie 2 pir, I need 2 pir. Stomping in my ir firce ones!!!" - Nelly's awesome!!! (i'm kidding...it's just a song that freaking gets into your head and you can't get out no matter how hard you want it) I have the sudden urge to buy me some Nike Air Force One's.
- California's Gold a TV show on PBS just always captures my attention whenver it is on. It shows all these historic California tourist spots that look cool to visit.
- Check out this website Filmwise and click on the "Invisibles" - its a quiz featuring movie scenes and you have to guess the movie...the only thing is that the actors bodies are digitally taken out! AWESOME!
Ok, since its Thanksgiving I guess I'll have to say what I'm thankful for. Keep in mind I have so much that I'm thankful for that this is no where near everything that I'm thankful for.- My awesome family.
- My equally awesome friends.
- My health
- The fact that I have a job even though I hate it, so I can support myself to live and not on Dad anymore.
- YOu know what? I think that's all that I really need in life...good family, good friends, staying healthy, and having a good job.......oh yeah, a girlfriend would be nice, but I think I have everything that I need to be happy. Why is it that sometimes I'm not? Oh well.....
Well, that's it for now. Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. Everyone be safe have fun and think about what you're Thankful for. Such is the life of Joe.
Ummmm....hmmmm...what to talk about
Ummmm...so....how you guys doing? Ummmm...yeah, so like I'm supposed to update this because you biatches bitch and complain that I don't update this enough but I have no idea what to write about. But I'm updating this anyways so you won't bitch and complain.
Hmmmm...yeah, ummm...ok. Yeah, so how's the weather? Ahhh yes, the Santa Ana winds. I remember these winds well when I was still in college and trying to walk to Bio Sci from the Student Center cutting across Aldrich Park and just trying to dodge all the falling branches. Ahhhh...the memories. Yeah, but its pretty dangerous on campus during Santa Ana winds because of all those stupid Eucalyptus Trees which seem so fragile and brittle and their branches just come crashing down on you on Ring Road or in Aldrich Park, good times. I was driving at the corner of Harvard and Irvine Center Drive and I swear there were like freaking tumbleweeds everywhere...and some huge ones too. Cars were just trying to dodge them and everything. It was kinda cool.
So do you like this entry? Doesn't really say much...but I guess it's something for you guys to read. Such is the Life of Joe.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Ok, so it's not Thanksgiving until a couple more days but today was the annual Thanksgiving get together with the friends. Mmmmmm....good eats, good times just chilling, seeing the friends again, and singing the kareoke! You know you're getting old when everyone is excited about singing kareoke. HA! I remember when it used to be just drinking and just hanging out but now we have kareoke to entertain us. Good times though, good times.
So why is it that everytime that we get together the girls always are talking to each other on one side of the room while the guys are sitting on the other side talking or watching TV? Just wondering. Kinda funny how we're in our early 20's (ok, for me, in my mid 20's) and we still seperate like we're 12 years old or something.
So are you happy that I updated my page so soon after the last update? SHUT UP THEN! AND SIGN MY FREAKING GUESTBOOK!!!
Such is the life of Joe.
UPDATE YOUR BLOG BIATCH!
Many people have told me this. Maybe not in those harsh words but I get the idea. I know I complain to people when they don't update their blogs so I shouldn't be angry when people tell me to update mine. So which is better, a blog updated every single day with short ass entries? Or a blog updated every week or so with long ass entries? Hmmmm...either way I guess I'll try to update this stupid thing daily. But I'm warning you, some of the entries will just be "I went to work, went home, and now I'm going to sleep...such is the life of Joe".
So I was thinking about getting a queen size bed to put in my room but now I'm thinking, Do I really need it? I have money to buy one but I'm such a cheap ass that I'm the type of person who doesn't really buy something unless I need it. Hmmm....dunno. We'll see what happens, but I think it would be nice to spread out on a bed without fear of falling off.
So my eyes have been hurting me for the past week or so. Actually, I dont' know if it's my eyes...I just know that when I try to focus on something up close to my face or look up at bright lights I get a freaking headache inbetween my eyes. Maybe I should go to the optometrist??? But that is just another expense...do I really need it? Hmmm...we'll see, if it doesn't get better by next year I'll go to the optometrist.
I went on campus on Monday just to handle some business and that place has changed so freaking much!!! There are at least 3 new buildings in the Bio Sci/Physical Sci area and all the buildings have different names now. Its freaking crazy. But you know what? It kinda depressed me. I wish that I was like 6 years younger or something and just entering UC Irvine because it has so much to offer now. All the new majors and new classrooms which won't be so freaking crowded. Man! And all the girls wearing their low ass hip huggers or low rise jeans or whatever you want to call them. I love those things!!! But as I was walking around UCI, I realized that these girls are probably like 5 years younger than me and stuff. Man, that just depressed me. Oh yeah...another thing to all you girls who wear those pants. Please wear the right underwear with them preferrably a thong or no underwear at all. I saw this one girl with low rise jeans and she had on granny panties!!! And they were full on showing from the back of her pants because she was bending over picking something up (yeah, I admit I was looking). Just because it says "Victoria Secre" on it doesn't mean your underwear is sexy...especially if they're granny panties.
Ok, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Dinner with a bunch of friends. That should be really fun. Just kicking it with friends and especially eating all the good food!!! MMMMMMMM!!!! I can't wait! You really get to appreciate these get togethers after you graduate because you barely see your friends on a regular basis anymore. You know that everyone is gonna bust out their digital cameras and they'll be a lot of pictures taken...even though they're all gonna be the same thing. Okay, that's it for now....such is the life of Joe.
Good Times
Ah yes, as the weekend draws to a close, I actually have a lot to talk about! Wow! First off was Friday night and Belle's Birthday plus Berto's November Reign II party. It's always good times when you kick it with friends. Its always good times when you kick it with friends that you haven't seen in a while. Its pretty funny what our lives have come down to now that we're out of school. We tend to keep in touch via AIM or by reading each others entries on their blogs or websites. The funny thing was that I know I'm gonna read probably 5 blogs in the coming days that mentions tonight and this party. Also its funny to see what blog influenced the blog you are reading or even writing. I was surprised to see how many people actually read this stupid thing, people kept on coming up to me telling me they frequent my site sometimes.
I think I'm getting old. I don't think I can handle my alcohol as much as I used to, especially beer. I had 2 beers at Karl Strauss, one was a 22 oz. and the other was a 16 oz. but I was feeling it there....maybe it was because I didn't eat before pounding that 22 oz. or maybe it was because I was still hungry after finishing that 16 oz. but I was so freaking tired after drinking that. Yeah, I was hella tired that night for some reason. I think its because I am old, a long day of work and then a long night out just tired me out. But while I was at Corner Office I had my whisky sour, and that was alright. I think I'm gonna start switching from beer to hard liquor, and I mean old man hard liquor like whisky and stuff. Ok, probably not...yeah, I'm rambling.
Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets. A lot better than the first one, at least I thought so.
So I missed freaking SNL dammit! And I heard that it was a good one. Oh well, I'll just have to catch it as a rerun later on in the year. But you know what's on after SNL? NOTHING! There is freaking nothing on TV after SNL except for Infomercials. And I admit it, I sometimes watch infomercials. Not because I'm interested in the product, just because they're sometimes freaking funny. Like how come they always make it seem like their product is 100 times better than doing it the regular normal way? Like I was watching this one for a pocket sewing machine or something and one of the things was "tired of not being able to sew your curtains" and it shows a lady trying to lift her big ass sewing machine to sew the curtains that are still on the wall??? That's freaking funny!!! Or the "Magic Ear"..."now you can hear jokes from across the room" and it shows these guys telling jokes and this old guy laughing his ass off all the way across the room. Or any weight loss, cosmetic, exercise machin. They always show a "before" and "after" pictures. The "before" picture always shows the person not smiling, with no makeup, slouching, bad lighting, and messed up hair. But the "after" picture always shows that same person smiling! with makeup! standing straight up! with great lighting! and well coifed hair! Of course the "after" picture looks better because you try and make the person look as bad as possible in the "before" picture. HA! Infomercials, you know you gotta love em. That is all for now....such is the life of Joe.
Movie Time!
Did you know that The Lord Of The Rings came out on DVD on Tuesday in a special extended version? Suckers for all you who bought the earlier 2 disk set!!! HA HA HA!
Hell yeah! The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Rings or LOTR: FOTR and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones or AOTC are both out on DVD!!! And they came out on the same day!!! AWESOME! Toys R Us had Star Wars AOTC for only $9.99 the day it came out and there were lines at the door and it soon sold out. Crazy, huh? The first thing I watched on Star Wars was Yoda kicking ass, then I popped in LOTR because watching AOTC was putting me to sleep. But LOTR just kicks ass and even though it is like 3 and a half hours long it still keeps your attention. I can't wait until LOTR: The Two Towers comes out in the theaters!!!
Random Fact: did you know that its physically impossible to lick your elbow???
I can't wait until tomorrow. Berto's now annual "Reignstorm" is tomorrow to celebrate various November birthdays. Last year was dope because it was all the old school people that I haven't seen in a while. None of the young-uns running around. It was just old friends getting back together for a night since we dont' see each other every single day at school anymore. I can't wait. I've been looking forward to tomorrow for the longest time. It's time I actually had a chance to just chill and relax with a couple drinks and good old friends. Plus, its Belle's birthday and you know what that means! HA HA HA!!!
Ok, how many of you guys actually tried to lick your elbow! Admit it!!! YOU KNOW YOU DID! HA HA HA!!! And yes, I did try licking my elbow when I first read that in an e-mail. Pretty damn funny isn't it?
Okay, that is it for now....such is the life of Joe.
Bless you?
Ok, so now I have something to complain about the new apartment. I have no freaking cell phone reception here!!! DAMMIT!!! I have Sprint and I'm very happy with it except that it gets absolutely no reception here at Northwood Place. Its pretty weird because I drive one block away from the apartment and I get full reception!!! What the hell is that all about???!!!! So i've been getting all these voicemails on my phone that I don't get until a couple days later. Ok, ok, ok....I've gotten 3 voicemails this week, but for me that's a lot! So just IM me or freaking call the house number (its the same as the old house number), if you need me.
This rainy, fall weather has been making me just way too lazy lately. I've been wanting to do nothing at all. That and also trying to finish up putting stuff away and settling into the new apartment. Once I get home from work, all that I want to do is just change and then go to sleep. I used to freaking go work out but now I'm way too lazy. Damn weather and season!!!
I just saw the new trailer for the new Daredevil movie!!! HELL YEAH!!! You know how much of a comic geek I am (in fact, I still collect now and then). Check it out here, Daredevil. Its freaking awesome because Jennifer Garner is freaking hot!!!! I love her in Alias and I know I'm gonna love her as Elektra in Daredevil!!! Too bad that I'm still iffy on Ben Affleck. He used to be a cool actor acting in the Kevin Smith movies and stuff but then he "sold out" starring in crappy movies like "Bounce" and "Armageddon". But I'm still hype about Daredevil!!! Keep February 14th open...I'll probably have it free.
Random Thought: When you're at church and someone sneezes, do you say "Bless You"? or would that just sound redundant since you're in church???
Farewell Windwood Glen....hello to Northwood Place
So yesterday was the last time we were in the apartment at Windwood Glen. We were there to do some last minute throwing away of junk and packing of junk. Ahhh...I'm so glad to be out of there. It was fun when 161 lived there but ever since they moved out it got boring. And plus I love our new place. It seems a lot bigger, its 2 story, it has a huge ass patio, and I HAVE MY OWN ROOM!!! AND BATHROOM!!! Hell yeah!!! That's what I'm talking about!!! If anyone wants to come over to visit its 474 Hayes.
You never realize how much crap you have until you start moving. I swear we threw out a lot of stuff but we still have a lot of stuff. Anyone need 3 sets of tires??? A intake manifold for a Honda Civic? A muffler for a Honda Civic? 2 semi-broken monitors (since they aren't completely broken we can't throw them out now, can we?)? Yeah....random stuff. I gotta start getting rid of shtuff.
You know what's cool about AIM? The fact that it keeps you in touch with your friends. I now see my friend Rosey online more and more and its cool just talking to her. I had to mention her becuase she was complaining that there were no pictures of her on my website. You all know what happens when you ask for something???? I deliver!!! Too bad, I don't have a any good embarrassing pictures of her, but if you guys do, send it over and I'll post it on my webpage. HA! I warned you!!! I remember back in my 2nd year...her 1st year, there was this stupid dance at the Mesa Court Commons "Denny's Room" and so people from our dorm, Palo went. Rosey was dancing and it was kinda hot in there and......HA HA HA!!! If you know her ask her for the rest of the story. Sorry if I'm picking on you but this is just my way of giving you a shout out for complementing me on my page.
The end for now...I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while but its this stupid moving and everything. I'm so glad its over. Such is the life of Joe....
I Love Moving....
Yesterday was Halloween...did anyone come to our door and say "Trick or Treat"? No, not a single person. I wonder why that is???? Maybe it has to do with the fact that we had our lights off and the TV turned low so no one would think we were home. HA! You know you did the exact same thing too!!!
We started truly moving our stuff into the new apartment on Halloween. For some reason I'm really excited to move into this apartment. I think I'm gonna like this apartment a lot better than the old one because 1.) it's 2 story and 2.) I HAVE MY OWN ROOM!!!. I'm gonna have my own room for the first time in like 6 years!!! YAHOO!!! I can't wait!!!
Anyone know who "Kristina" is??? Check out my guestbook....someone named "Kristina" from Canada signed it. The only problem is that I don't know any Kristina from Canada. Hmmmmm......is this page getting bigger than its intent and being seen by people I don't even know? Hmmmm..that's kinda scary. Oh well...such is the life of Joe.
