Musica
So Michael Jackson passed away last week and I know that everyone has said what a big influence he was and what a big part of their life his music has been. And yes, let me tell you that Michael Jackson's "BAD" was the very first piece of music that I have EVER bought. I went to KMart and had to ask the guy to open up the sliding case that all the cassettes were locked behind and purchased it and went home and listened to it over and over and over on my little boom box. Ahhhhhh... Even if you don't like that kind of music, I think you've grown up with it and can't deny the influence of Michael Jackson. RIP.

For all my Degrassi the Next Generation fans (namely Danielle). Did you know that the black dude who got shot and was in the wheelchair....that he's now a rapper named "Drake" and sings the #1 hit "Best I've Ever Had"??? So weird. I realized that back when Jamie Foxx was performed on Conan and Drake rapped on his song. Also last night he performed on the BET awards.

Yes, I watched some of the BET awards...why? B/c Janet Jackson said a lil something at the end. But I will NEVER watch the BET ever again. So terrible. One of the last performances was Drake, Lil Wayne, and Young Money singing "Every Girl". And if you've heard the uncensored version of that song and just listen to the lyrics...it's about wishing that they could have sex with every girl in the world. And who do they have up on stage dancing to the song? 4 underage girls....hmmmmm....

Ok, so now back to some music that I like. Rancid "Let The Dominoes Fall" is their new album and they're as good as they've ever been. I think Rancid has to be one of my favorite bands...so consistent and a great live show. Also, I can't get the Metric song "Help I'm Alive" out of my head...such a great song. So I'd recommend Metric's "Fantasies" album...really good and a lot of catchy/poppy songs.

And how great but how heartbreaking was the US vs. Brazil soccer game yesterday! The US was up early 2-0 in the first half. I was screaming my head off at each goal. All they needed to do was prevent Brazil from scoring and they'd win the whole tournament!!! But in the 2nd half Brazil came back and beat the US. BOOOOOO!!! Honestly, you could tell that they might come back. They were just attacking and attacking the US Defense. Brazil held the ball for what seemed like 85% of the time compared to US. Good game though...good effort.

And yes, I scream my head off only during a couple sporting events. SF Niners football and US Soccer (major tournies). 1.) B/c I'm a die hard Niner fan 2.) because it's the USA and I LOVE rooting for the underdog.

Short week this week and I can't wait until the 4th!!! YAHOO! It's gonna be so fun!!! Hope you all have a good week. Such is the life of Joe...

Yorick
I just finished reading the all 60 issues of "Y The Last Man" and WOW! So great. Learning how the gendercide happened was ehhhh to me, but the rest of the story was great. I was really really sad at the end of it. Such a great series. In fact, they were thinking of casting Shia Lebeauf as the role of Yorick...and I think he'd be perfect...too bad he said he doesn't want to do it b/c it's too much like his role in Transformers (which is exactly why he'd be perfect).

Speaking of comic book movie news...I heard that the dude that played McLovin is going to star in the movie adaptation of "Kick Ass"! How perfect is that?!?! Even though there's only 5 issues so far of that comic they're already making a movie! I can't wait.

So "X-Factor" is so freaking good. I love it. And what's even better news is that Madrox is getting an action figure finally!!! (at least they're planning on making him). I can't wait for SDCC (San Diego ComicCon) b/c Hasbro is supposed to have like 16 prototypes of new Marvel Legends Toys on display!!! YAHOO!!! After like a year of not making those toys...hopefully they're going to come back just as good as ever!!!

Transformers came out...and I'm ehhh to see it. I heard that G.I. Joe is TERRIBLE. I'm wondering if I should sell some of my comics just b/c the hype of the movies is driving them up. For example, "Watchmen #1" was worth 4 times as much as it is worth now right before the comic came out. "G.I. Joe #21" is going double what it went for last year (in anticipation of the movie) but since the movie is going to suck...it'll probably fall back down to it's regular price once it comes out. Do I collect to collect or collect just for profit...hmmmmm....

Ok, enough for all you nerds reading this (and for all you regular people who have no idea what I'm talking about). Such is the life of Joe...

Mazal Tov!
- Fill My Cup!
- Drank!
- Mazal Tov!
- La Hiem!
Yeah....I hate them...stupid BEP. Just compare their new songs to their first album and you'll wonder what happened. Oh they had to much potential...sigh.

So I updated my Iphone to OS 3.0 and I don't really see anything different except for the cut and paste which I LOVE and the ability to use the long keyboard during texting (which is cool too) and the voice recorder is a neat feature but with that being said, I don't think I'd be one of those crazy people lining up to get the iPhone 3Gs. Why? Because most of the features I wouldn't use and the features that I would (tethering and MMS) aren't available yet. In fact MMS isn't supported by AT&T until the end of July and they might charge users for tethering!!! WTF! (tethering is using your iPHone to connect your computer to the internet like when you're at the beach or camping or something). I could do that for free with my old Nokia. Meh!What's cool is that finally you can check Hotmail on your iPhone now! So now I can check all my junk mail! (I use Hotmail as my junk mail email)

So everyone knows how much I hate Kate from Jon and Kate plus 8. Well...they're getting a divorce...big surprise. But after watching that episode I decided that I hate Jon as well. Yes, she's demanding and a biatch but he's just immature and stupid. You think that by getting a divorce it's going to stop the media coverage of you? Yeah right...it'll only make it worse. And he keeps on saying that he'll do whatever for his kids and that he's doing the best thing for them. Yeah...I'm sure getting a divorce is thinking about your kids. BLAH! That's it...I could go on and on...but that's all I'm gonna say.

Finally it's starting to feel like summer. YAHOO!!! Pretty soon it'll be pool parties and beaches! I can't wait! Ok, that's it for now. Such is the life of Joe...

Twitter
Ok, so I've been wanting to blog this for a while and I've been going back and forth on this topic. Sometimes I think it's alright and sometimes I think it's a total waste of time. And I've finally come to a decision...I HATE Twitter.

Yes, this is coming from someone who Blogs and you can argue that Twittering is just like blogging...but it isn't. You only get like 140 characters to "Tweet" you can't form a complete thought/argument/story in just 140 characters!!!

Yes, I do like the "tweets" that actually tell you something funny or interesting or a good find or sale. I do look at a couple of stores "twitter" just to see when they get a restock of something or when they get new stuff in or when they have a big sale. Any tweet with useful information is welcome. But I can't stand "tweets" that just say stuff like "eating a hot dog" or "going to get coffee"...BLAH! I don't care. Might as well just update your twitter with stuff like "Tweeting on Twitter" because that's what you're doing. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Yes...so I HATE Twitter (that is until 3 months from now when I finally breakdown and join. BLAH!)

And yes, this is just my opinion. I know many people love Twitter and that's find by me...but can you at least make it a little more interesting? Such is the life of Joe...

I'll See You At The Airport
Went to Vegas this past weekend to celebrate a couple of Cat's cousins birthdays. Cienna who turned 13 and Chris who turned 21!!! YAHOO!!! Good times in Vegas. We got in on Friday night and checked into the Monte Carlo. Chris turned 21 at midnight that night so we just took him down to the downstairs bar/lounge there called Brand and just drank up. Nothing too crazy the first night since the rest of the family wasn't all there yet.

Saturday was spent lounging in the Monte Carlo pool for most of the day. It wasn't the hottest it could've been in Vegas but it was still hot enough for the pool. I've never been to the Monte Carlo pool and it was nicer than I expected. It's kinda ilke a mini Mandalay b/c they have the regular pool, and a mini-wave pool and mini-lazy river (compared to Mandalay). What was cool was that they had a DJ at the top of the wave pool playing good music. Good times, although towards the end of the afternoon the wave pool was covered in a shadow and it got really cold in there.

Cat and I went to pick up some balloons for the birthday celebrants, a "21" balloon and a "1" and "3" balloon for the 13-year old. Yeah, too bad the people at Party City are idiots and don't know how to tie balloons correctly b/c the "1" flew off the string when we got to the restaurant. BOOOOO!!! I think they did it on purpose, those bitches!!! Dinner and of course games with Cat's family is always fun.

So we took Chris out to Tao at the Venetian. I HATE Tao when you don't get bottle service because it's so freaking crowded but we decided to get there a little later...we left to go there at midnight and I was ready to wait in line for a long time. But we were only in line for like 15 minutes! It was so quick! They took us another way that I'm used to and I guess we went up to the roof to Tao Beach area. I actually had a great time up there. We only waited in line for 15 minutes, it really wasn't too bad getting drinks, it wasn't too crowded, they played great music, and we were outside...it was awesome. We started to head downstairs when they started the switch from hip hop to electronica stuff and downstairs they were playing good music inside for a little while before they made the switch. That's when we called it a night. All around, I had a great time!

Oh yeah, and I actually won money! I used to gamble a lot in Vegas, but not anymore. I've really cut down. I played a little blackjack (should've left when I was up) and basically just came out even. It was on the roulette table that I doubled my money. It just kept on hitting my side of the wheel. I didn't do my normal strategy of doubling my bet every time it hits, otherwise I'd be up 2 or 3 times...but at least I'm a winner. So it was a great Vegas trip.

Oh yeah, and btw, the best iPhone app that I have and the ONLY one that I've paid for is ComicZeal. It's a comic book reader for your iPhone!!! How awesome is that! I made good use of it this past weekend at the airport and on the plane.

Ok, how you all have a great week. Such is the life of Joe...

Zack Morris
For John John:

So who's in charge of the confetti in Orlando? Whoever it is they should be fired. Oh yeah, and I'm sure all you people who bet on Orlando -4 were so glad that they put that 0.2 seconds back in the clock so Pietrus could make those last 2 points to put the Magic up by 4, thus pushing your bet. Yeah, who says Vegas doesn't influence the game.

Ok, that is all for tonight. Such is the life of Joe...

iPhone
iPhone 3GS available on June 19th!!! 16GB $199 and 32GB $299. But what's even better is that the 8GB iPhone 3G is now only $99!!! WOW! That's just amazing! I think EVERYONE is gonna get an iPhone now!!! I'm excited as anyone, but I have to stop and think if I really need the new iPhone. Sure it would be nice to have, but I think I'll be content with my lowly first generation iPhone (not even 3G) especially with the OS 3.0 coming out (yes, I know some features won't work on the first generation iPhone, but I'll just wait and see).

Great weekend. I did so much and I'm super tired but it was fun. Saturday we were out and about from 10am. Went to breakfast at Panini Cafe and were stuffed with delicious eggs, bacon, fruit. I love this place and highly recomend the humus trio to start if you go there for lunch or dinner. We then just walked around the Town Center, going to Barnes and Noble and also watching "Angels and Demons". Pretty good, I thought "Da Vinci Code" was way better though. We then did some more errands at the mall (namely eating at Cinnabon!!!!) and then headed to Church. Later that night we headed to Downtown LA to meet the Danny's at the Standard. Really nice rooftop bar there. It was my first time there but I loved it. It was a full moon and the LA skyline is all around you. So nice. We finished up there and headed to the Library Bar down the street. There was a wait b/c there was another party going on in there. What's funny is that it was a big group of Filipino's in there and then I see Joellee and Zandro walk outside for some air! WOW! What a small world. So here is my theroy:

My theory is that if you see a group of at least 20 Filipinos around your age that there will be an 80% chance that you will know someone (100% chance if your name is Jay or John John). And there will be a 100% chance that someone in that group knows someone you know (one degree of separation).

Anyways we finally get in there and see Earl chilling there too with some other people! And the party in there was total UCI peeps that I recognized but didn't know (b/c they're way younger than I am). Good times in there. It was more crowded but at least the drinks were a lot cheaper. So what always goes with a nite of late night drinking? Greasy Mexican FOOD!!! Cat and I then went to our favorite 24 hour late night spot....no, not Alberto's or Alberta's...ALBATROS!!! Mmmmmm...carne asada chips. DELICIOUS! And that place was totally busy. It was like 1:30-2:00 am and it was packed.

Sunday was the 25th Annual Tustin Chilli Cookoff in Downtown Tustin. This year was so much better than last year because we actually got to taste some chilli! Last year we went really late, like around 2 or 3 pm...this year we were there at 11:30am and had our fill of beer and chilli in an hour. Good times and good chilli. My favorite was the Zona Caliente chilli. There are always so many people out and it's always crowded and sometimes impossible to walk down the street b/c there are so many people. So here is my peeve:
People who stop in the middle of the street. Dude, you're blocking the way and now everyone has to go around you! At least stand to one side!
I was also going to include people with strollers, but I can understand why they're out and about and I'm sure in a few years that's going to be me. The funny thing about the cookoff is that we thought we tasted ALL the chilli, until we walked back to our car and saw a whole row of like 10 stands that we didn't even see!

So all you Tustin-ites, mark your calendars for next year. Tustin Chilli Cookoff, get there early, bring your own water/soda, bring a beer holder or something to free your hands from your beer so you can eat chilli, split up and each get a different chilli that way you can taste all of them without getting so full.

Ok, the end of my weekend. This weekend is looking to be another busy one since we're heading out to Las Vegas for Cat's cousin's 21st. Any suggestions which strip club to go to? Such is the life of Joe...
